Manchester United players began to settle down and they nearly equalised just before half-time when Macheda strike hit the post.

Manchester United finally got their equaliser from Nemanja Vidic header. Smalling then put Manchester United ahead with a header from Nani's corner. Javier Hernandez put the pressure off when he completed the scoring in the final minute.
