well done in raising the profile of Dynamos .hopefully soon enough you will be up there with orlando pirates

Thanks Toonman, it'd be nice, but I can see myself moving on long before I get Dynamos creditability and reputation anywhere near the Pirates - it'd probably take several wins in the PSL to do that and once I have won once, I'll think I'll be looking for a new challenge.

Never say never though!

Stop...it's....count the money for Hammers time.

In a GBP70K transfer move, Hammers signs a two year, GBP600 per week deal with PSL side Sundowns. He mentioned (as is becoming a theme) that "the chance to shine in the African Confederation Cup aided him in making the decision."

I thought that competition was slightly more exclusive than that to be honest.

And, I was disappointed with Hammers ultimate wage settlement with Sundowns - I think the agent was trying to get one over me, but I'll happily take the 70K knowing that I have a far better replacement already in the squad.
#60588 Kiwi : In a move that will call time on Gavin Hammers Dynamos career, Denis Khripunkov, a Kazakhstani under twenty one representative, has agreed to a three year, GBP220 per week contract with the South African club, having been released from previous club Tobyl.

Did you scout Denis Khripunkov or was he offered to you via an agent?

If you can scout in that end of the world .. there are a number of good prospects you can pick up cheaply with low wages.
I always found it easier to sign foreign players from those "smaller" eastern Europan leagues than from other African leagues. No problem with permits.

Unfortunately it was via an agent (and I have some rather promising Chinese goalkeepers come to my attention the same way). I'm waiting for the Board option to become available again so that I can scout more territory, I'm still only able to scout Africa.

I was very lucky with my WPs as you alluded to last time, with both of my centre backs and my left winger hailing from either Cameroon or Senegal. I'm trying to sign a Ghanaian right back to shore up my defense at the moment, and I found an equally suitable Portuguese/Angolan from Santos FC Angola. He doesn't want to discuss terms at the moment though.

It can be frustrating, but it is just a matter of being patient!

I haven't quite got to my staff roster, and key man write up, but here is my new right winger, come striker replacing Gavin Hammers, all for the princely sum of GBP220 per week. The lad is only 19 and can only improve, and prior to signing with Dynamos, had played seventeen matches, scored eleven goals and collect four MOM awards.

Introducing Denis Khripunkov, about the only time an agent has ever done me a solid.

I thought Andile Mhlongo had a great future ahead of him, else I wouldn't have paid 9K compo for him. Further I agree that he will offer tremendous utility value from the bench while he finds his feet at senior level....but given he is only 16, not even I would have thought this.....

Here is his profile:

Wow, who thought there would be someone SOOOOO good from Kazahkstan? Nice one :)
I was very impressed, and knew as soon as I saw him I'd be making a bid. Also knew I'd have to ditch one of my strikers, so the stars aligned when Hammers (who was the most at risk anyway) wanted a ridiculous amount to sign on for another season.

His arrival will also limit the game time that injury prone [and potentially next to go] Lucky Mesenya will have to face, and I have another striker in reserve, to account for the long term injury that may or may not happen.

Mhlongo will be one of the best utility players in your game, if you keep his training up. Well done, your success continues.
I'd like to think so, but I believe his progress will be slow because we (at the moment) have fairly average facilities and staff, but I'll stave off the undoubted interest from the bigger South African clubs while I can.

It's funny how easily you can get attached to your club and the players though. I'm thinking I will make a separate save when I am ready to move to progress my career and see how far I can take the club, purely for my own interest.

The PSL draw has been released, and the first three games pit us against Ajax CT (Home), FS Stars (Away) and rival match Black Leopards (Home).

Our first three friendlies went well, and I'll spend the next couple auditioning replacements for Onana, who is sidelined for our first five (!!) games.

Still have WP pending for the Cameroonian midfielder and the Ghanaian right back, and I am hoping that the midfielder fails his application as we are in more need of the right defender at the moment.
The fans don't lie....Yusuf Mashego has been voted the Fans Player of the Year for the '13/14 year. Let's hope he can still cut it in the PSL. His 53 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions must have been the deciding factor.

Stats at the beginning of the PSL:

Our promotion to the PSL has meant that Kaizer Chiefs have dropped us as our parent club, and instead announced a link with Cloud 9.

I'm hoping that that finding a new parent club will be something that our Board can quickly agree on.
The Board has seen fit to offer me a transfer budget of 300K and wage budget of 9.25K to "Avoid Relegation".

If I set the objective at "Win the League", the budgets would be 400K/11.25K.

For now, I'll stick with avoid relegation and work upwards from there.
