Yes, I am 425K better off, but I feel so much poorer. And I now have a gaping hole in my defense to plug.
I really hope that Sundowns don't pick my team clean, but it is to be expected; low level EPL club player gets an offer from Man U/City/Chelsea at five and a half times the salary, you would be mad not to move....wouldn't you?

I have a feeling that a year in the PSL is going to be a very long time.

Golden Arrows have made an installment bid for vice captain Barkhuizen, which I was more than happy to accept, Gomis (as above) has taken the money and run away to Sundowns, Captain Masabo has major interest from the Pirates and I am working through a succession plan there....but if that wasn't already enough my second starting centre back, another foreigner in the team and the likely candidate for the captaincy should Masabo leave is making noises about his contract not being rewarding enough.

Yes he has an agent, but as yet hasn't had any interest from other clubs.

Edgard has been given the phone book treatment (slapped, but not as to leave marks) and has quietened down but who knows for how long. Also took the opportunity to tell him to step it up in training.

I'm disappointed at the general level of South African defenders...as indicated by having three of my five foreigners being in the back four.
I now have a huge problem....my little "chat" with Edgard kept him quiet....for a day.

He has been slapped again, and once again, run away saying he promises to drop it.

My biggest concern is the dearth of suitable replacements means I may have to live with him, at least for a while.
Damn the Super Eight competition! The Kaizer Chiefs (my former parent club that I gained absolutely no benefit from) have cancelled my friendly with them because they are playing the Jomo Cosmos in the Super Eight Competition. They've done me out of my 16K appearance fee!!!!

With any luck, next year Dynamos will be competing in that competition.

In other news, I'm hanging on tender hooks regarding "my" Egyptian centre back, I've offered a contract, but another club may have sniped me.

There are other offers out, particularly in our goalkeeping area and defenders, while it is certainly not the weakest area, it is certainly the one with the least depth and could very well be exposed by a raid from a competing club; and as Sniper has said, that is a highly probable outcome.

Barkhuizen has only had one offer made, although still has interest from three others.

And my Board still aren't willing to discuss the expansion of my scouting range!!!
I can't believe I have done this, but I did feel it was a necessity.

Richard Ngobese was the young goalkeeper I was keen on signing earlier (on a free), but I didn't like the prospect of wasting his, nor Masabo's talents on the bench. Well, that and his wage demands were a bit on the high side.

Although I've now been able to "encourage" his wage demands to be more reasonable, I've outlaid 50K as an insurance policy. Not that I am suffering from buyers remorse, but I can't help but think about what happens if a move for Masabo is only rumour.

I've also picked a youth keeper up for 12K compo from Martizburg City.
My Ass Man has a flair for stating the obvious. "Veteran midfielder 'Fatso Mashego is well past his prime and can no longer perform adequately at this level."

He feels that the player has been loyal to the club in the past and should be allowed to see out his current contract.

Umm, did you miss the memo which said he was going to retire at the end of his current contract??
We made a profit of 775K last term, which equated to 37% of our turnover apparently.

Prize money accounted for 375K of the profit, based on our successful season.
I know it is a bit early to get excited about the new season yet as I am desperately trying to finalise my roster, but we get television rights this season.

7K is still 7K, but it isn't the dizzy heights of the EPL.
At least the fans love me!

And it does show that more work will need to be done on the stadium. We have a capacity of 15K, but only 10K of which is seated!

We have asked for a WP to be granted to "my" Egyptian central defender. Guess that means that we have won the battle for his signature!

Now, if he doesn't get his WP, I will be annoyed.

EDIT: And I need to wait a month before they will hear the application, which will put us at the end of August before I know anything!
This was also unexpected....

Off go my youth utility player, a striker, my reserve reserve keeper, my reserve left back, and my defensive midfielder. I hope none of them get injured!
The media are in no doubt who the key men are for us this season:

I hope I can retain them both....and to be fair, Edgard has not made another noise (yet) after his second carpeting. Am I tempting fate?
Sod the WPs taking so long to grant! My Ass Man has just reminded me that registration for the African Confederation Cup is in six days. Two key defenders, whom I hope will get permits, are not going to be eligible because I am not going to be able to register them in time.

Bollocks man.
And my Board still won't extend my scouting range!!!!
