December

Bournemouth 1-0 Stoke Premier League

A great way to start December with a win we scored inside the first 2 minutes which really got the game off to a flyer.

Tottenham 4-1 Bournemouth Premier League

A big defeat we conceded early on but got a penalty awarded which we scored bringing the game level. We went in at half time at 1-1 but never really got going in the second half unfortunately.

Wolves 1-3 Bournemouth Premier League

A fantastic win here we went in at half time 1-0 down and I told my players exactly what I thought then in the second half Samaras popped up with a hat-trick in 20 minutes.

Norwich 0-3 Bournemouth Premier League

A huge win against a struggling Norwich side we seem to be a 2nd half team as I've noticed we don't really create many chances in the 1st half but after the break we go all guns blazing and it's working.

Bournemouth 2-0 Blackburn Premier League

Wow three wins in a row and I'm starting to think I might stay up this season. This was also Samaras 6th goal in the last 3 games he was £4 million well spent.

Everton 2-2 Bournemouth Premier League

I am very surprised with this result as I rested 6 players for this game due to the games coming thick and fast. Again we went 2-0 down only to fight back and grab a vital point in our race for survival.

League table

December was a fantastic month with some big results and we're performing well above expectations.

Mid season summary

Manager notes

We end the year in 7th position in the Premier League with 31 points and it really is hard to believe. I am proving that you don't need worls superstars to make a winning team you can achieve it with having the right tactics and man management. They say 40 points are enough to keep you safe in the Premier League and we're only 9 points off the 40 margin. As I have done in my previous 2 seasons in Leage 1 and the Championship I am performing well above the expectations I set with the board at the start of the season. As January gets underway I will be asked by my board if I want to change my expectations and again I will be leaving them as they are. Also throughout the season so far in my monthly board report we are making profits of almost £2 million a month which is fantastic news.

January

Manchester City 2-0 Bournemouth Premier League

There was no repeat of the 1st game of the season where we got a shock 1-0 win over Manchester City at home. I was happy that we didn't concede more though to be honest as they really did bring the game to us creating lots of chances.

Bournemouth 2-0 Shrewsbury FA Cup 3rd round

A comfortable 2-0 home win sees us into round 4 using my 2nd team meaning I can rest my first team for the next game.

FA Cup 4th round draw - Bournemouth V Southampton

Bournemouth 0-0 Tottenham Premier League

With 10 minutes to go Zubar got injured and as I had already used my 3 subs I had to end the game with 10 men but they hung on to claim a vital point.

Transfer update I am very happy to announce that we have managed to get Emmanuel Adebayor on loan from Manchester City for the remainder of the season with a view to buy him for £1.5 million at any time. He is unhappy at Manchester City and his contract is up at the end of the season so I may be able to get him on a free depending on whether or not he would be willing to lower his wage demands as he is on £180,000 a week at Manchester City. We have also signed Joe Ledley from Celtic for free as his contract is also up at the end of the season so I've offered him a contract and he's accepted I look forward to welcoming him to my team for the start of next season.

Sunderland 0-2 Bournemouth Premier League

A nice win against Sunderland but I was expecting a good result here as they're 19th in the league table with only 3 wins. I am hoping for a good result in our next game also at home against a struggling Birmingham team.

Bournemouth 3-2 Birmingham Premier League

A wins a win but not as comfortable as I thought it would be Birmingham put us under a lot of pressure in the final half an hour and it looked like they were going to steal a point.

League table

February

Bournemouth 1-1 Southampton FA Cup 4th round

Even though this game was against our biggest rivals I decided to make a full 11 changes and rest my 1st team. We only managed a draw and will now have to have a replay.

Chelsea 2-2 Bournemouth Premier League

A fantastic performance we came from 2-0 down to draw this game Leon Osman pulled 2 goals back in 6 minutes just before half time to rescue a point.

Bournemouth 2-1 QPR Premier League

A nice home win in front of another home sell out crowd I am really impressed with how we are playing of late.

Southampton 2-0 Bournemouth FA Cup 4th round replay

This replay was another chance for me to rest my key players and I opted to play my subs and youngsters sadly it didn't pay off and we lost the game 2-0 exiting the FA Cup.

West Ham 1-3 Bournemouth Premier League

A fantastic way to end the month as next month we play Liverpool , Manchester United , Arsenal and Newcastle in a row so it's going to be very tough.

League table

March

Bournemouth 2-0 Swansea Premier League

Nice to start the month off with a 2-0 home win over Swansea especially with the big games coming up.

Liverpool 0-0 Bournemouth Premier League

It was fantastic to get a point away at Liverpool in the 1st of the big 3 games.

Bournemouth 0-1 Manchester United Premier League

We did well to hold Manchester United at bay for so long but sadly we couldn't hold on and finally succumbed to defeat.

Arsenal 6-0 Bournemouth Premier League

We got well and truly beaten in this game and couldn't get going at all I just hope we can get a win soon to keep us going strong in the league.

Bournemouth 3-1 Newcastle Premier League

A great way to end the month with 3 first half goals securing all 3 points against Newcastle and lifting us up to 6th in the league.

League table

April

Aston Villa 3-0 Bournemouth Premier League

A dissapointing defeat but we went down to 10 men early in the 1st half and couldn't cope with the pressure after that.

Bournemouth 5-0 Fulham Premier League

A huge 5-0 home win over Fulham who are struggling in the bottom 3 fighting relegation. Adebayor got a hat-trick and I really hope we can make his loan move permanent next season.

Stoke 0-2 Bournemouth Premier League

Stoke had 3 players sent off in this game so I had no trouble getting the win 2 second half goals secure all 3 points.

Bournemouth 4-0 Wolves Premier League

A great win to end the month and we are now in a European spot but can we hold on with only 3 more games to go.

League table

May

Blackburn 1-4 Bournemouth Premier League

This win against Blackburn ensures we will definitely finish between 4th-6th in the Premier League I really can't believe what we have achieved this season.

Bournemouth 0-1 Norwich Premier League

A very dissapointing home defeat to Norwich in a game I felt we should of won rather comfortably.

Bournemouth 2-0 Everton Premier LEague

A great way to end the season infront of our home fans and due to Chelseas 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa we managed to finish the season in 5th in our debut Premier League season.

Final league table

AFC Bournemouth finish 5th in the Premier League 2013/14 and will be playing European football next seaon.
Excellent season. You will get a lot of money for participating in the Europa League. Just make sure you have a lot of replacements ready. Unless you get knocked out of european competition really quickly, it will be a long, tiring season for the players.
Very good storyline, pleasure to read and great effort, that really is a cracking effort to finish 5th in the EPL from just 3 seasons.

I was more watching Arsenal's bid for the title and just like the previous 6 years, failed at the final hurdle. TYPICAL!!!! :(
Looking at the table I wonder how many more managers Chelsea have gone through....

And I know money talks, but I do hope that City don't have a lock on the EPL title from now until when the oil runs out!

End of season report

Wow at the start of the season the media predicted we would finish 20th and I told the board I would attempt to avoid relegation. I think I have proved you don't need to spend millions to make a winning side and we have done brilliantly to finish 5th and guarantee European football for next season. In all 3 seasons so far I have set my expectations low and smashed them so I will be doing the same next season as it seems to be working. We have a lot of ageing players who's contracts run out at the end of the season and I wont be renewing them instead I will be seeing if they would like to stay on as coaches etc. I'm hoping the stadium may get increased again due to us selling out every single home game and boasting a 100% attendance record throughout. I also hope with us losing a few players we will get a hefty transfer kitty to strengthen and bolster the squad as we also made a profit in every single month throughout the year.

End of season summary

Cheers for the comments guys I truly can't believe it I got the tactics spot on I played counter attack for home and away games figuring every team I met would try and attack me so I could hit them on the break that helped me achieve some big wins throughout the season.

Club news

New sponsors which means more income which can only be a good thing.

Well as I hoped the board have again decided to expand the stadium not by as many seats as I'd hoped but it will generate more income in the long run.

Pre season report , Profits , transfers and expectations

The minimum expectation I could set for myself this season was a top half finish so that's what I have gone for. And to help me achieve this I have been given £22 million and a wage budget of £500,000 Which has doubled from last year I currently spend £217,000 on wages a week which will be cut down even more so when a few players leave so this will definitely help me rebuild and strengthen. I'm not to bothered if I don't finish as high as I did last season I will be happy to just make the top 10 this year and maybe have a good run in the cups.

Profits

New contract

Players bought

I have decided against adding pictures of the players I have bought instead I will be adding their names , abilty stars and writing a review on each player.

Tomasz Kuszczak (GK) £1.5 million With Flahavan retiring it left me with just 1 goalkeeper so I needed to bring in another one.

Javier Garrido (DL) Free - After impressing me last season while on loan his contract had expired so I decided to bring him back to the club.

Ruud Espen (DR) £3.5 million - Zubars ability had dropped over last season and with us now entering Europe I needed someone with more experience.

Kolo Toure (CB) Free - At 33 Kolo Toure will bring bags of experience especially for the European games and for a free transfer we really have got a great player.

Even Hovland (CB) £4 million - My defence was one area that really needed strengthening now we are in Europe and at 25 Hovland is already a great CB who could get better still.

Joe Cole (RM/LM) Free - I am really happy with this signing Joe Cole will definitely bring a lot of creativity to the team.

Gareth Barry (CM/DM) Free - At 33 and with a lot of international caps to get Barry on a free transfer was a real coup he will also bring a lot of experience to the team.

Joe Ledley (MLC) Free - Joe will definitely have a role to play in the squad this season as we are going to have a lot of games coming up he is relatively young and I was delighted to get him on a free.

Leon Osman (MRC) - Free - After impressing me last season on loan after his contract had expired at Everton I decided to snap him up he will mainly be used as a rotation player and I still feel like he has a lot to offer the team.

Yakubu (ST) £3 million - After not being able to sign Adebayor due to his ridiculous wage demands I definitely needed a new striker and thought about a target man and Yakubu fits the bill perfectly.

Chris Wood (ST) £2.5 million - Chris is only young and I bought him for the future and for the time being he will also provide good back up incase of injuries.

Players sold

Donal McDermott After bringing in 11 players I decided I needed to sell some along with the players who I had released he was sold for £2.6 million to Stoke.

Shaun McDonald Same reason as Donal I needed to get rid of a few players due to the size of the squad and money I had spent I sold him for £1.5 million to Bolton.

Simon Francis With the number of defendrs we had brought in I decided to offload Francis to Swindon for £100,000 as he was surplus to requirements.

Charlie Daniels I decided to loan Daniels out to Southampton for the season.

Players released

Eric Addo - After making 105 appearances for the club and scoring 11 goals Addo's contract expired and I decided not to renew it with him being 35 he had no interest in becoming a coach as he is planning on retiring from football.

Chris Coyne - 36 year old defender Coyne's contract also ran out and I decided not to renew it and he is also planning retirement.

Roque Santa Cruz - I was willing to keep Santa Cruz on at the club but I was not willing to pay his wage demands of £40,000 a week when he made 27 appearances and only scored 2 goals he wanted his current wages doubling and I decided against it.

Michael Stewart With the number of midfielders I was bringing in I felt I needed to get rid of a few as to not cause problems within the team for players fighting for a place Stewart is almost 34 and declining as a footballer so I made the decision to release him.

Juan Angel Roman Roman had been upset for a while as he had not been able to get into the first team and I decided to release him and let him find a new club.

Players retired

Mateja Kezman - Club favourite Kezman decided to stay on at the club as a coach until 2017.

Darryl Flahavan - Goalkeeper Flahavan decided to quit football altogether.
