Wednesday 5th November 2014 – Manchester City v Maribor (Champions League Group H)

MCFC Starting XI – Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Bale; Milner, Barry, Lampard, Nem; Sneijder; Cavani SUBS – Pantilimon, Richards, Varane, De Rossi, Nasri, Aguero, de Jong

Maribor Starting XI - Radan, Smitran, Rajcevic, Dautovic, Cmrecnjak; Z Filipovic, Crnic, Dodlek, Tavares; Zahovic, Beric SUBS – Avbelj, M Filipovic, Volk, Hotic, Hajric, Novac, Horvat

Manchester City can’t stop scoring and another top class performance means City have now scored 19 goals in their last 2 games. Another quick start where the game was over early meant the players could relax and that is when City look most dangerous, the chances they create are turned into goals and the defense has an easy ride at the other end. The win also means City only need a point to qualify for the Knock-out Stages of this year’s Champions League.

Final Score – Manchester City 7 (Nem 5, Cavani 10, Lescott 22, Bale 30, Sneijder 38, 48, Nasri 70) Maribor 0

MOTM – Wellington Nem

Attendance – 45,556
You just seem to be scoring for fun at the moment. What are the hopes for this season?
19 goals in two games is ridiculous, can't ever remember it happening to me before.

I would like to think we can retain the League title, but we are quite far behind already and I definitely hope to at least make another Champions League final. Wouldn't mind a nice run to Wembley in one of the domestic Cup's as well, but they aren't priority really

Saturday 8th November 2014 – Chelsea v Manchester City (Premier League)

MCFC Starting XI – Hart, Richards, Kompany, Nastasic, Clichy; Milner, De Rossi, Sneijder, Bale; Aguero; Cavani SUBS – Forster, Varane, Sanfo, Barry, Nem, Nasri, de Jong

Chelsea Starting XI – Cech, Essien, David Luiz, Moreno, Cole; Mikel, Ramires; Pedro, Mata, Hazard; Jovetic SUBS – Courtois, Sturridge, Ben Arfa, Chalobah, Torres, Ramsey, Bertrand

Manchester City couldn’t keep up their recent goalscoring form and actually couldn’t even score a goal against a strong Chelsea side, as the team from Stamford Bridge defeated the Champions 2-0. City rarely threatened and Chelsea’s top scorer, Jovetic, gave them a first half lead that was then doubled in the second half through a penalty by Hazard.

Final Score – Chelsea 2 (Jovetic 19, Hazard 61(P)) Manchester City 0

MOTM – Ramires

Attendance – 43,000
