Chris Kamara: Saviour of The Saints

So, this is my story. In this story I am Chris Kamara, soccer saturday reporter who has managed Bradford and Stoke in real life. In my story he has teamed up with Middlesbrough Chairman and childhood friend Steve Gibson, leading Boro into the Premier League and signing wonderkid Carlos Fierro. but it wasn't enough to keep him at the Riverside and he left for Fulham where Dimitar Berbatov hit form, but when the goals dried up Kamara resigned, but just a week later was offered the Southampton job in the npower Championship and a £40m transfer budget was promised. But he didn't need it to take Southampton straight back up via the play offs. Because he is Chris Kamara, Saviour of The Saints.

The story

Sky announces shocking bankruptcy

Today Sky have announced that they will be going into administration and have sold off all their TV channels. This includes Sky Sports who owned the Champions League, Liga BBVA and Barclays Premier League rights.

Hit show Soccer Saturday will be pulled from the air and the reporters and panelists have been made redundant. These include Anchorman Jeff Stelling who is linked with a return to countdown, Paul Merson who was rumoured to return to management despite stating otherwise, Phil Thompson who is in talks with Liverpool for a return as coach, Matt Le Tissier who has joined Southampton as coach, which he nearly did years ago, and Chris 'Kammy' Kamara ,who also appeared on Soccer AM, who said he would go back to coaching football sides if he was offered a job.

Kamara to replace Mowbray?

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray is reported to have had a row with Boro's chairman Steve Gibson. It is widely thought that Mowbray will be sacked in a few days time but Gibson has not yet said who will replace him. However, speculation suggests that either Alex McLeish or Gary Megson will be the new manager. However, Gibson's close friend and ex-Bradford and Stoke manager Chris Kamara has stated that he would love to get back in the job. Kamara has been made redundant from Sky after the company wentt bankrupt. He is considered an outsider for the job, but you must never underestimate the power of friendship.

Kamara takes Mowbray's place

Middlesbrough have announced the sacking of Tony Mowbray as manager of the Championship club. Chairman Steve Gibson was rumoured to have had a furious argument with him and has announced that his school friend and ex-Boro player Chris Kamara will take over until the end of the season.
Kamara, who previously managed Bradford and Stoke, was made redundant by Sky after the company went bankrupt and stated his desire to get back into management. He stated in his first press conference that he could do great things with the club. "Boro will be in the premier league before long and I want to help them get there and consolidate their place as England's finest." Fans certainly hope he does help them as they have been missing from the top division for a number of years now.

I looked ahead of me. Rockcliffe Park. Middlesbrough FC Training Complex. This is my job now. Every day,this fantastic piece of architecture right in front of me. I'm paid to walk into this luxurious building, talk to loads of great people and then teach them how to play the beautiful game. I might even join in from time to time. I used to play too so I can't be that bad. Actually I could be. I walk in, my mind full of ideas of how Boro can become great again.

Brilliant. State of the art reception. I wondered what the rest of the building would be like. Before long I was in my office answering calls. Your first day isn't different to any other. One thing always stays the same though. Managing a football club is hard work. Watching videos, thinking tactics, disagreeing with Chairmen (Believe me, I used to work under Geoffrey Richmond) and of course getting those lazy players to put a shift in. I don't want to deal with the selfish players, the ones that don't try. I put in 100% when I was playing. Well, I had to because I wasn't too good at anything other than trying hard. I suppose that Work-rate would be my only stat over 10 on Championship Manager. Good game that. I used to play it a bit when I was a player. I could have done tons better than Sacchi at Milan or Fergie at United, but I was confused by all those different screens, expensive contract offers (Seriously, who asked a club for £50,00 a week in 1993?) and endless stats. It's called Football Manager now I think. Even more confusing for people that really should of worked harded in school because they've put so much more in there!. I remembered my days with Bradford. We had some good players, and Richmond knew how to pamper a team, but he wasn't easy to work with. Steve Gibson is a good mate of mine, so it shouldn't be anything like Richmond. And then I went to the training pitches to re-start my managerial career.

Kamara announces 2 new signings

Today Middlesbrough Football Club announced 2 new arrivals to the Riverside Stadium. Recently installed manager Chris Kamara finalised deals to sign Scottish midfielder Andrew Shinnie and Australian left-back David Carney. Shinnie was signed from Inverness for an initial 300k. However, Boro will pay £1,000 for the first 50 league games he plays. Kamara has brought in a number of new coaches and scouts whilst letting go some of the staff from Mowbray's reign, but the 2 scouts signed had both reccomended Shinnie and scouted him thoroughly before the transfer. David Carney is an Australian international who was without a club, and Kamara fought with numerous other clubs to get his signature. Meanwhile, young winger Lee Erwin signed for 6k from Motherwell.

Please note: These are the original results. Whilst I was saving, my laptop cut out and I cannot load the game. I am now using the back-up created by the game, so I had to replay the games against Valencia and Boca. When I re-did those matches, I lost both 2-0. However, I still have all my signings.

Managers notes
I am disappointed with the results, especially Bradford as they are the worst club and my former club, but the victories over Zaragoza and Boca were fantastic, and so was the draw with Valencia. These results suggest we are poor away from home, so we will have to make The Riverside Stadium a fortress.

I got off the plane and saw the sign. Tenerife airport.I pulled out my phone and called for a taxi. Then the cab came, so I got in and gave the driver the money. He asked, in Spanish of course, where I wanted to go. When he saw me surveying a travel guide to Spain, he asked in English. Then he looked at me. Before I could say I wanted to go to Vilaflor, he chirped up "Hey, I recognise you. What's your name?" So I said Chris, but he cut me off instantly. He shouted "Kamara! What you doing now?" I explained I was manager of Middlesbrough and that I was here to sign Pablo Sicilia, a defender still living in the Canary Islands even after being released by Tenerife. Then we drove off to the pub I had arranged to meet Sicilia, El Matador. Outside was Jorge Tarraga, Sicilia's agent. We discussed Boro and Tenerife before sorting out contract details. We managed to agree terms so I told him I would get Steve Gibson to do the paperwork and he would be a Boro player. After a few drinks, we went to Estadio Heilodoro Rodriguez Lopez to see his old club Tenerife play.

Leadbitter out for start of the season

Middlesbrough midfielder Grant Leadbitter has confirmed that he will miss the Capital One Cup game against Preston and the start of the league campaign against Wolves. Leadbitter has injured his chest in a weight-lifting session and club physio Les Parry, brought in by new manager Chris Kamara, has annnounced he will miss 2 weeks of action. It is thought Josh McEachran will replace him.
