Champions league 1st knockout round: Dortmund Vs Juventus

Lineups

Dortmund: R.Weidenfeller, K.Grosskreutz, M.Hummels, N.Subotic, L.Piszczek, N.Sahin, S.Bender, I.Gundogan, M.Reus, M.Gotze, R.Lewandowski

Juventus: G.Buffon, G.Chiellini, L.Bonucci,A. Barzagli, M.Isla, K.Asamoah, P.Pogba, L.Marrone, C.Marchisio, S.Giovinco, M.Vucinic

Kick Off

37th minute: Asamoah has the ball on the left handside, he runs at Gotze he goes inside, outside and now he has some space, hee floats it over Weidenfeller's head and there's VUCINIC. Juventus lead at Signal Iduna park. Vucinic umarked just ghosted into the far post and scored an easy header.

45th minute: Sahin with a Free- Kick just inside the Juventus half. He hits it over the backline of the defence and Hummels has found himself some space. He gets up above Bonucci, Buffon is no where to be found and............GOAL. It took along time for the ball to go over the line but Hummels has equalized on the stroke of half time.

78th minute: Sahin with the Free-Kick just outside the box. He can deliver a good ball from here. He whips it in, Barzagli and Bonucci have missed it and it's in. How about that. I cannot tell you who scored it. I am watching a slow-mo replay and it appears to have hit Kuba on the back of the head and flown in to the top corner. 2-1 to Dortmund.

90+3 minutes: Kehl has lost out to Marchisio and Juventus can counter. Giovinco with his back to goal and there is the run of Vucinic but Subotic hasn't picked it up and Giovinco find him, Vucinic is through, he has the pace, out comes Weidenfeller but it is too late as the ball is already in the corner of the net. Vucinic has made things a lot easier for Juventus and now Dortmund will really have to put on a show at the Juventus stadium. OH and there goes the final whistle and it has finished 2-2

Player of the month

A quiet month with not many fantastic individual performance, the closest we got to a piece of greatness was Lewandowski's 2 goals against Hamburger but his performance was held back by yet another penalty miss. A chance to get his hat-trick wasted. It was a poor penalty. Despite all of this it has to go to Robert because of the three goals that he scored. The only competition that he got for this award was Nuri Sahin who got 3 assists.

Managers notes

Not the greatest month in terms of performance. The only truly good game was the 'Gladbach fixture. A win against HSV was expected, I am disappointed not to win by more against Heidenheim. The other two results were not very good. We needed to beat Juventus because going to Turin and winning is a tall order. On return to Bundesliga action we were poor. Even though both of their goals could not be stopped we hoped to put up more of a fight. We didn't pressure them at all towards the end. On an Injuries note we lost Schmelzer last month and now are stand in full back Owomoyela is gone for 2 months with a torn hamstring. We are going to have to change some things round.

Penalty woes

The side has won 6 penalties so far. That is a lot. So we are very good at winning penalties. Usually this is a great thing for a team. Not with Borussia Dortmund. We have missed all 6. Lewandowski missing 4. When he missed the first penalty I though nothing of it because everyone makes mistakes. The next game he misses another one. I am concerned at this point and therefore let Hummels have a go. It is saved. Lewandowski tries again but it hits the post. Sahin tries one but it is saved by the keeper. I have given up by now and just let Lewandowski take another. He misses of course. After all this I decide to let Sahin take them because he came the closest. We better start scoring them before it really costs us.

Dortmund 3-0 Schalke

Player of the month

For the third time in a row it has to go to Lewandowski because of his amazing performances against Schalke and Mainz. Despite the fact he missed his 5th penalty of the season he scored 5 goals in 4 games. He has been the perfect striker these past few months and has now gone well clear of Huntelaar in the race for being the top scorer in the Bundesliga.

Managers notes

Some amazing performances and some fantastic results to go with it. We completely dominated the game against Mainz and Schalke, but I am more proud of the victory away at Bayer Leverkusen who are a very strong side. It was an even game and then 2 last minute goals from Kevin(Grosskreutz) gave us the 3 points. Also we missed another penalty but then against Nuremberg we FINALLY scored one. Sahin has done it. The coaching staff were celebrating that one like we'd won the league and hopefully Sahin can keep scoring them.
Not a bad month once again, you celebrate like you've won the league when you score a penalty? Even with such a poor spot-kick record, that is pretty weird :D.

Champions League 1st knockout round

Juventus : Buffon, Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci, Asamoah, Pirlo, Lichsteiner, Vidal, Marchisio, Giovinco, Vucinic

Dortmund: Weidenfeller, Grosskreutz, Hummels, Subotic, Piszczek, Bender, Gundogan, Gotze, Schieber, Lewandowski, Reus

Kick Off

32nd minute: Bonucci hoofs the ball up the pitch and Vucinic chests the ball down at the half way line. There is no one near him as he drives towards Weidenfeller's goal. He's still going unchallenged. WHERE IS THE DORTMUND MIDFIELD? The defence is just standing and watching as Vucinic bears down on goal and he slides the ball underneath Weidenfeller and Juventus go 1-0 up.

44th minute: Juventus just slowing down the play here as the ball reaches Asamoah out wide. He plays a through ball to GIOVINCO and Giovinco is through. Benders not catching him and he smashes it into the net for 2-0. Dortmund have some work to do now.

Borussia Dortmund Vs Bayern Munchen

MT: Hello I'm Martin Tyler nad welcome to Germany for our very first live Bundesliga fixture and it's a big one. Dortmund vs Bayern. Alongside me is Gary Neville.
GN: Hello, I'm very excited to see this game. It will be a fascinating game, as both sides have some magnificent players.
MT: This fixture could also decide the title with Dortmund 3 points ahead after Bayern's loss to Stuttgart. If Dortmund win they will be 6 points in front which is quite a margin. However victory for Bayern would tie them up level. Anyway here are the staring lineups.

Dortmund: 4-3-2-1
GK: Weidenfeller LB: Schmelzer CB: Hummels, Subotic RB: Piszczek CM: Gotze,Gundogan,Sahin AML:Reus AMR: Kuba ST: Lewandowski

Bayern: 4-3-3
GK: Neuer LB: Alaba CB: Badstuber, Dante RB: Lahm CM: Gustavo, Schweinsteiger, AML: Muller AMR: Robben AMC: Kroos ST: Mandzukic

Kick Off

14th minute: MT: Gotze sprays tthe ball out wide to Reus. Reus uses his pace to get past Lahm. He drills it in towards near post and there is LEWANDOWSKIIIIIIIIIIIII.
GN: OOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
MT: That could be crucial. Dortmund go 6 points ahead at the minute. Lewandowski continues his fabulous scoring run.
GN: Still a long time to go though and Bayern know that they have to turn it around.

29th minute:MT: Robben hits the ball towards the far post but Scmelzer heads it away. Sahin on the edge of the box will clear it but
GN: OH NO. Sahin gives the ball straight to Robben who gives it to Mandzukic who cannot miss.
MT: HE DOESN'T AND BAYERN EQUALIZE.
GN: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
MT: Sahin made a crucial mistake by heading the ball back towards his own goal and Robben was there. 1-1

62nd minute: MT:The ball is knocked through for Gotze to chase. He's going to have to sprint
for it and oh.
GN: OH thats not good Martin.
MT: Gotze has pulled up and is now lying on the floor clutching his hamstring.
GN: He may be out for a while.

86th minute: MT: Reus' corner goes towards the middle and there's HUMMELS.
GN: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
MT: are you gonna do that for every goal now?
GN: Maybe
MT: Hummels carts of towards the corner flag. He may have just won the game for Dortmund. A crucial goal from Hummels
GN: He rose above Boateng and unleashed the bullet header into the top corner.
MT: 2-1
Nice Month in March - unlucky against Juve though, they always seem to beat German teams?!
And just to let you know, Lewandowski 100% will leave at the end of his contract so in case you didn't know, you might want to start looking for replacement strikers!

Yeah. His contract runs out at the end of next season and he doesn't want a new one
You seem to be doing really well :D but if Lewandowski insists on leaving, maybe you should try getting Salomon Rondon? He seems like a great player

Player of the month

Sorry everyone but it has to go to Lewandowski again. He has just been too good. He's been ripping up defences all over Germany. HE SCORED IN EVERY GAME. He has pretty much won the top scorer award. He's now 6 clear of Huntelaar. Amazing. What can I say?

Managers notes

Fantastic set of results and we are now in the driving seat to win the league. If we win our first game next month against Stuttgart, we win the league. Well what happened to Bayern. They fell apart after they lost to us. They lost against Frankfurt,Wolfsburg, Gladbach and could only muster a draw against HSV. COME ON DIE SCHWARZENGELBEN.
Endorse and crap!
