alrite dusan, just so you know that west ham as a team arent that really good.

ur doing above expectations. After a season or 2 you will see that your team will start playing better and better as well.

You know that teams have their own stats as well. Thats why even though u might have bought some good players to west ham you still might not have been able to do better than you are doing at the moment.

And if u play with a big team and then play with shite players you can still easily win games.

you get the point?

so dont worry if ur not winning by playing great football or something.

JUST tweak a bit of personal instructions for some of the players to get them going.

Other than that keep it going as u are becuase ur doing really well.

It seems to me like its

- A bug that causes strikers to embarrassingly miss 1v1, hit post wayy too many times

- Tactics need supreme fine tuning

- New players/manager need to settle in first

After a lot of tweaking, and 3 seasons my forwards are now bagging a ton more goals but they still consistently miss 1v1 and post. Just my thoughts :)

Well I'm aware of that, but it seams that FM09 is much more harder than FM08. In Fm08 I could easily make West Ham one of the strongest teams in England, but in FM09 I have a feeling that only luck is making me win and after a while that luck is going to fade...
Yeah.. the striker always hit the post.. even in front of the goal..
its really frustrating if in a game, u hit the post for 8 times..
its happen to me...

probs cos u can see wats happening better, and you can see your team really is shit, despite the fact they scrape a 1 0/ 2 1 win every game.
does anyone know why is it so important for strikers if they play right or left side striker? i play arsenal and i have tactic from FM 2008. it was quite a good tactic basicly 4-4-2 with left sided striker being targed one and right was kind of fast/creative one. it worked perfectly for fm 2008, both Adebayor and Bendtner being best scorers in a lot of competitions and Vela and van Persie were top rated player. now i had quite some problems with even scoring a goal, both strikers ussually ended with poor rating. i try really hard to tune that tactic for FM 2009 and nothing worked until i just switch the position of those targed and fast striker. now both strikers get high rating and play well. question is why just this simple switch have so big impact on the players?

thats one thing i dont like about FM

because in real life u just dont let your striker go out on the pitch and try to do their best.

you want certain things from ur players. like i would like a striker like berbatov to stay central and try not to go out wide if he doesnt have to etc.

things like that should be added to tactics.

but still they havent changed a shit in the tactics page in recent FM's.
Well supposidly putting left footed striker on the right are ment to get you more goals and vice versa.
Ok, So I need tactical Help. I'm currently playing with Spurs. And we can't score....ever! I'm trying to play a 4-2-3-1, but it doesn't seem to be working. Here's what I've got right now.

GK: Gomes
RB: Corluka
CB: Woodgate
CB: King
LB: Bale
CM: Lassana Diarra
CM: Joao Moutinho
AMR: Lennon
AMC: Modric
AML: Matias Fernandez
FC: Pavlyuchenko

I've spent most of my transfer budget on diarra, moutinho, fernandez, and another player that escapes me at the moment perhaps it was a striker. Either way this is the lineup I trot out most of the time. My leading scorer in November is Diarra with 3. No striker has more than 2.
I play my tactic with short passing/quick and relatively wide. As usual spurs conceed a lot (though Gomes is probably the best FM keeper I've ever seen), but I just can't score to keep up.
What I want is to use my lone striker as a target man and distribute to the AM's and have them bang them in. My team has plenty of speed, but it's just not happening! Any help, alternative tactics, player suggestions for next season would be appreciated. If you need more info let me know.
short passing does not go well with quick tempo, you need to change one.
also maybe you should use two strikers, little and large.

if you want to use a lot of pace then use a counter attack style, quite defensive, man marking, close down all over, maybe have pavlyuchenko hold up the ball and be a target man so he can play in the quick players. also CAM position should usually be a free role, with a player with a lot of creativity and flair.

joao moutinho shouldn't be in a defensive role, if you play counterattack make sure you have two dm players in the centre, cm's and cd's should be players with very high mental attributes to be the spine of the team.

should be helpfull!
The !RedDevil! : short passing does not go well with quick tempo, you need to change one.

it does. Well not with too quick passing and too short passing.

But you can play with slightly short and slightly quick in passing.

But it all depends on how your team is and how you see your overall play adapting to it all etc.

you can say big teams play with short passing and quick tempo. but of course its hard to play with short passes and have a lightning quick tempo because that requires that your players move 5-10 meters in lighting speed =P

you get the overall point.

red is right
in FM08 with bayern i made a very strong team, and i played short passing with quick tempo, and it worked great,so it just depends on your players.
bad weather = direct style of play.

good weather = any style of play(good for short passing teams)

bad weather includes rain mostly and slightly cold weathers.

When theres no rain u can say its a good weather hehe
and if it is 10 degrees below zero ???
then the game get postponed :)
