Transfer Details: Signed from Aston Villa for £1.6million

I have decided to take a different approach to matches with a significant formation change which changes the emphasis of playing through the middle to the wings. This meant that I needed to invest in some wingers, advice given to me by PaukerJ a while ago and I wish I had listened earlier.

Wayne Routledge has never really settled at a club and I am not sure why not as I think he is a good player who could contribute a lot to my Huddersfield Town team. He has a lot of experience of playing in the Premier League which is what we lack. Despite now being the age of 29 he still has some pace which I hope can cause problems to teams’ defences.

Andi Weimann is an absolute steal at £1.6million. He was extremely unhappy at Aston Villa as he wasn’t getting game time. In my opinion he is not at the four stars rating my (poor ability) scouts give him, however, with a lot of game time, which he will get, his abilities will increase dramatically. He has a very bright future ahead of him and I can see him becoming an integral part of the squad.

Iago Falque is the creative player that I was searching for during the summer transfer window. I am extremely happy with this signing as he is desperate to play first team football which is what I can give him. I am hoping he can come in and take control of the middle of the park as my current players can find this difficult. I had made the mistake during the summer transfer window and simply invested in striking options which meant my midfield had no depth. Now we do and I am sure this can only have a positive effect on the club.

Transfers Out

Both Michael Owen and Papa Boupa Diop have been released from their contracts. Owen is in the latter years of his career and is more injury prone than ever. He spent more time in the physio room so he was seen as surplus to requirements. Diop simply had to make way to allow Falque to be registered. Falque has a much brighter future ahead of him with him being of a much younger age compared to Diop. Diop did serve us well in the Championship and did add a bit of stability to our midfield but he has spent most of this season injured and I could only see injuries continuing for the remainder of the season.
I LOVE Falque, his stats are class! Andi Weimann is a great signing as well.
Nice signings James :)
Falque will be ace for you I'm sure. I’m in 2 minds whether to sign him myself for Burnley.

Cheers guys. I am sure that Falque will become a very important part of the team and has already made a huge impact. He just wasn't getting the game time at Tottenham Hotspur so he was quite desperate to find a club that would give him constant first team action; this is what I can definitely provide him. The downside is is that he is finding it hard to settle into the area so has had to go on leave, who knows when he will return. I will have to look to bring in a player of the same nationality in order to help him or else I just can't see him settling into Yorkshire life.

Thanks for reading.

All that mattered this month was getting results in the Premier and for us to try and put a stop to the potential steep decline that faced the team. To come away with three wins out of four Premier League games is very encouraging, especially when we had tough games against the two Manchest clubs in and amongst a very busy schedule. I feel a sense of relief that we are no longer in the domestic cups as the retaining Premier League status has to be the priority. I do feel we will stay up this season but where we will finish...I have no idea.

Player of the Month – Iago Falque

Busy month, but some pretty good results :)
very nice transfers :D Falque will be really good :D already got your player of the month i see for Jan, good run of results considering you had chelsea and the 2 mancheters in a tight run of games, should remain in the premiership :D good luck with the remaining months

Great transfers. Iago Falque is a former Barca and Juve youth so you got an absolute steal.
It just seemed to get busier and busier and there was no let up in the quality of team that we had to face, especially the two Manchester clubs. I think we came away with what was expected of us which has stood is in good stead to finish in a high position come the end of May. Thanks for reading.

You must have liked them so much that you commented twice. Falque has been great since he joined us and has already helped himself to a hat trick. I am looking to him to be a huge player for us next month. We don’t tend to just roll over when it comes to matches against the big 4 but instead put up some sort of fight. This will hopefully continue next season, if we retain Premier League status. Thanks for reading and commenting twice!

Falque will simply improve the team greatly. He is a quality player with some pretty good attributes and he has still got a lot of playing years ahead of him. I just hope he can settle sometime soon so he can concentrate on playing. Thanks for reading Pauker.

Despite this month starting in a very bad way it has ended on a very big positive which has helped the raise the players self esteem. I am pleased with the result against Tottenham Hotspur but I cannot fathom how we did not walk away with three points against Queens Park Rangers who are a much poorer team than us. I am concerned that despite the influx of money from our continued participation in the Europa League that we are going to be running on empty come the end of the season. I am confident we won’t be relegated but I want us to continue to perform well to ensure that it is not possible for us to be relegated. The next four Premier Leagues games can result in 12 points for us and it is down to us to make sure we get them as they are desperately needed.

Our European adventure has come to a rather disappointing end. After the giving away three away goals in the first leg it was always going to be very tough if we were going to progress. We did ourselves proud to even to get this latter stage of the competition, especially when there were some big name teams left in the competition. The best thing about a season in the Europa League is that it has given our team experience at a high level but also it has brought in some much needed outcome. We have made a profit every month so far this season and European football has been a huge factor in that. We will move onto concentrating on our Premier League season with not many games remaining and a chance of fighting for a second season in European football on the cards.
Damn. so close mate!
