ebEliminator I wouldn't say park the bus, more like we have so much of the ball that the other team doesn't get a chance, and when they do Handanovic is too good to beat :D

Glenn T cheers buddy, we have to wait until the end of the season for the final though. Curious that the semi is so early in the season :/

Akash yay a comment! :P

Rablador he didn't do badly, 4 goals in 7 matches in January. For him, I guess that's atrocious XD

Injury Worries Disrupt Inter Midfield
In the last few days, a full 3 central midfield players have been injured for relatively long spans of time. Esteban Cambiasso is the least affected of the three, and is out for 2 weeks following a twisted ankle. This injury is the least important, as well, as Cambiasso has only played a rotation role at the club this season. The vice-captain has put in impressive shifts this year, but with the signings of Yann M'Vila last year and now Moussa Sissoko, Esteban has lost his spot in the team. Despite this, he has agreed to extend his contract for one more year.

The second player to sustain an injury is Adryan, who is out for an estimated 4 weeks due to strained ankle ligaments. The injury was sustained early in the match against Lazio. This injury is far more important, as now Coutinho's only cover in the attacking midfield position is the inexperienced Valentino Lazaro. Adryan has had a good season in setting up his strikers, but the main criticism of his play has been the lack of a goal in all competitions. Regardless, Nerazzurri fans will hope to have the Brazilian back quickly.

The third and final player to be injured is the "next Pirlo" Andrea Poli. The passing genius has been ruled out for 2 weeks with a groin strain. Without Adryan to take his place, it is expected Maxime Gautier, the 17 year old "French Xavi" in the making, will take the starting role alongside Moussa Sissoko. Poli will be the biggest miss, having controlled matches all season long and been the metronome to Inter's passing football.

Inter midfielder Andrea Poli.
Ouch tough losses, especially Adryan. Still, could have been worse, could have been Destro ;)

7 points clear of Juventus, though the Bianconeri do have a game in hand. Only 3 months of football left to be played, and we must continue to play at a high standard if we want to retain Serie A. Parma are another 14 points behind Juventus in 3rd, so it looks as though the title race is between the two of us yet again.

UEFA Champions League

We managed a strong 3-2 victory away to PSV in the first leg, but overall I am very frustrated. We led 3-0 going into the last 5 minutes of the game but the conceded two sloppy goals due to complacency. A 3 away goal lead to take back to the San Siro would have been perfect, but we are still in a strong position to advance.

Player of the Month

My player of the month is Philippe Coutinho who helped out the side with a massive 4 goals and 3 assists in 6 matches this month.

Monthly Review

In a month filled with excellent results, two matches have severely irritated me. The PSV match I have already spoken about, and now the Pescara match remains. We led strongly with half an hour remaining before blowing our 2 goal lead and drawing 2-2. We cannot afford to drop points like that to lesser teams. However, with the continued resurgence from Coutinho since the start of the new year, we have remained on course to win the Serie A and a possible quadruple (Supercoppa Italia, Serie A, Coppa Italia, UEFA Champions League).
I wish I could pull in results like that all the time, and cheers for being 7 points clear of the title!
