Youth Spotlight: Maxime Gautier

It was a long but downright brilliant season for Internazionale last time around; winning a sextuple is no simple feat. However, while the stars shone on the pitch, the fans saw glimpses of the future of the club they so love in the form of the many talented youngsters growing into the world’s next superstars. We’ll take a look at the most promising of those players in an ongoing series here at InterTV called Youth Spotlight: A Look to the Future.

The first player we will cover is French superstar-in-the-making Maxime Gautier. The teenage sensation was snapped up by Ligue 1 giants PSG at the tender age of 14 in 2012, eventually making 9 appearances for the full-fledged reserve side over the next two seasons. It was here that he caught the attention of Inter Milan’s Head of Youth Development Roberto Samaden.

Samaden was thoroughly impressed with the teen’s passing, technique, and work rate, and immediately recommended the central midfielder to Giuseppe Bergomi. After watching Gautier play in a reserve match in Paris, negotiations began. Clearly PSG were not ready to lose their prized asset for mere chump change and so a full €12.5M was splashed for the youngster.

Most people thought that this fee was ludicrous; there was no way a 16 year old boy could be worth that much money! Maxime has certainly proved his doubters wrong and made 44 Serie A appearances and 57 in all competitions in his 3 year stay in Milan so far.

Young Gautier seems very optimistic about his future at the club as well. “I love playing here for Inter,” he said in an interview with InterTV. “Bergomi is a wonderful manager to work with; he really has helped me improve as a player. All of the people and teammates are also great, and I love living here in Milan.”

Some people are saying that next season Gautier may spend out on loan. With players like Andrea Poli, Adam Maher, Isco Alcorcon, Lorenzo Crisetig, Yann M’Vila and Moussa Sissoko all available in the center of the park, Guatier may be able to get more first team action at a different club.

Regardless of where the French starlet plies his trade next season, one thing is clear for all to see; Maxime Gautier is by far one of the brightest up and coming midfielders in the world and will almost certainly one day lead his Nerazzurri to glory.
Looks like a star. Can you loan him to my TFC please haha
BayernAmerica: I would if I could :P
What a talent, he looks awesome! :D
The Madridista: Agreed, can't wait to see him develop! :D
What a regen mate! :D :D looking awesome Neal, keep it up!

Inter Milan Transfers: Departures

It’s almost that time of year again, and every club in the world is writing up their wish lists and hoping to land the deal of the century. No, it’s not Christmas time; it’s the one and only summer transfer window!

In this article, we’ll take a look at the biggest sales this summer of the greatest club in Europe; Inter Milan. After enjoying two straight UEFA Champions League wins, this would certainly be an important window for Bergomi’s men to strengthen and prepare to defend their crown.

This is the first article of a two piece work; in this half we will discuss sales, and in the next piece we will cover incoming players to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

DEPARTURES

Luca Caldirola has left Inter Milan for French moneybags AS Monaco in a €13M deal. The Italian center back, despite thoroughly impressing on co-ownership at Cesena over the last fouryears, only managed to make 9 appearances last term and will be happy to see first team football in Ligue 1.

Diego Fabbrini is the next Italian player to leave the Nerazzurri after only 1 season. After a highly unsuccessful season with Manchester City two campaigns ago, Fabbrini failed to make an impact at Inter due to Raheem Sterling’s wondrous form on the right wing. The winger has been loaned to Arsenal for €4M with a €19M future fee clause.

Daniel Schwaab has also left the Giuseppe Meazza to return to his home country of Germany. Borussia Dortmund has snapped up the international fullback for €13M and he will likely play a key role in yellow. Schwaab only made 25 Serie A appearances in 1.5 years for Inter and will hope for more regular football in the Bundesliga.

Isco Alcorcon is the fourth player to have departed the blue half of Milan and will return to his native Spain. Real Madrid have had their €17.5M offer accepted by Bergomi and will sign one of Spain’s most talented midfielders. Isco was a standout performer last season for the Nerazzurri after signing for free but with Maher and a potential new signing the European champions should fare just fine.

Moussa Sissoko is the final player to leave Inter Milan. The 2016 FIFA World XI selection has been one of Bergomi’s most consistent performers but with the likes of Adam Maher now dominating the advanced role in midfield, Sissoko has been allowed to follow Fabbrini to Arsenal in a €25M deal.
:O Some key players let go! Will defo be forward to see the arrivals update!
Big players gone but lots of money in for them! Rebuild on the way?
Pauker: Huge incoming actually, you'll love it ;)

k1rups: Well, rebuild in the way that more youth players are coming through :P
Forza Roma! Oh wait, wrong story :P. Trolled.
Pauker: Roma are in Serie B in this save :))

Inter Confirm Three New Signings

Having brought in no less than €71M on sales of quite a few top level players, Inter Milan looked poised to dip into the market to strengthen their side ahead of a long season. Defending six different competitions is no small feat, after all.

Jan Kirchhoff is the first to arrive on a free transfer from Mainz, followed by teenage midfielder Hugo Abdian from Boca for €4.5M and new Inter Milan record transfer signing Rogerio from Benfica for a massive fee of €62M. In this article, we’ll examine each of these three signings and how they will boost the Nerazzurri’s credentials.

ARRIVALS

German defender Jan Kirchhoff is the first player to join Inter Milan who joins for free from Bundesliga club Mainz. A physical beast and also a world class defender, Kirchhoff has proven time and time again in Germany that he deserves to play for a top club and he now has that opportunity. Due to the wealth of talent in the center of defense, some people are saying Kirchhoff may play in a defensive midfield role similar to that of Yann M’Vila.

They are already dubbing him the ‘next Javier Mascherano’, and he may just live up to that billing. Hugo Abdian has joined Inter for a fee of €4.5M from Argentine side Boca. Such a fee is perhaps a lot to spend on an 18 year old, but Abdian is considered one of the best young midfielders in the world. Already a hard worker and tough tackler, Abdian will surely develop into the future heart of the Nerazzurri’s storied midfield.

Quite simply, Rogerio might be one of the best players the world has seen and he now has the chance to prove, on the biggest stage, that he is in the league of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The Brazilian midfielder joined Inter for a club record €62M from Benfica and is expected to become one of the club’s key players and is by far Inter’s most exciting signing. Rogerio has wrought wonders at Flamengo and SLB before coming to the Nerazzurri, and only time will tell if he can handle the step up to the world’s biggest stage.
WOW ROGERIO!!!!! I think I exploded. Always been a fan of Kirchoff. €62m is a lot but oh my god he looks incredible
I love the signing of Abdian and Rogerio is your game's version of Willy van der Putten. I love it!
