Inter and Arsenal Prepare for Final Rematch

Last season's UEFA Champions League final between Arsenal and Inter was a tense affair, filled with drama, but in the end it was the Nerazzurri that ran out 1-0 winners. History was made that day as Giuseppe Bergomi's Internazionale side was the first ever to lift the European Cup on home soil, the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
This year, the only thing that seems to have changed is the venue; the final will be held at the Camp Nou in Barcelona. Everything else seems to be the same; Arenal vs. Inter, Bergomi vs. Conte. For a second year in a row Champions League history is in the making as for the first time in the history of the competition, the same two teams will contest the final in consecutive years.
It's fate, perhaps, that has renewed this eternal rivalry. Ever since Conte's stint at Juventus, he and Bergomi have been bitter rivals, fighting tooth and nail for every trophy. In the Juventus-Inter Derby d'Italia, it was the self-proclaimed 'King of Calcio' Bergomi that nearly always won out, and Conte has never forgotten. If he had, the biting loss in last year's final was certainly a reminder.
This year is a chance for vengeance. However, Arsenal will be missing a very key component of their side; goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will be missing due to his damaged cruciate ligaments. He's already missed four months of action and will miss another four yet. 18 year old English shot stopper Paul Metcalfe will start for the Gunners and has looked shaky at times these last few months, something Inter's strikers will certainly look to exploit.
The Nerazzurri, however, will have a completely clean bill of health; Mattia Destro and Ademilson have fully recovered from their injuries, a great sign for Inter's attack. Bergomi's men have certainly missed the explosive goalscoring prowess of those two talismanic strikers over the course of the season but players like Coutinho, Sterling, and Insigne have certainly picked up the slack.
Philippe Coutinho will almost certainly be the key player for Inter. Having scored 20 goals and created 21 assists over the course of the season, the Brazilian attacker is enjoying the season of his life and is capable of creating a goal from anywhere with his dribbling and flair. Because Arsenal utilize Conte's favored 3-5-2, Coutinho may be able to wreak havoc down the unmarked left flank.
Arsenal do have a stunning midfield to compete with, however. Andre Ayew, Jack Wilshere, and Aaron Ramsey are coming off of spectacular seasons, combining for a magnificent 25 goals and 46 assists throughout the season. Olivier Giroud has also taken up the goalscoring mantle netting a full 35 times, leading the team by far.
Arsenal have, of course, never won the UEFA Champions League, but have lost twice in the final of the competition. Inter is another story entirely having triumphed on four occasions and finishing runner up thrice.
Both teams are undoubtedly the two best in Europe, having now reached the Champions League final twice in a row. The question now arises; Can Arsenal avenge last season's heartbreak, or will Inter Milan once again prove that they are the greatest team in Europe? There's only one way to find out.
