Italy 0-0 France

World Cup Qualifying
Starting XI (4-3-1-2)
Sirigu; Santon, Ranocchia, Bonucci, Siqueira; Poli, Crisetig, De Rossi; Giovinco; Insigne, Destro

Verratti, Rossi, Borini

De Rossi, Insigne, Destro

Man of the Match

It was a pretty boring game between us and our rivals, truth be told. Insigne and Destro struggled to carve out chances for themselves up top, but our defense, led by Ranocchia and Bonucci, held out very well and managed to keep a strong clean sheet. This match was meaningless in terms of the final table, so a draw is a creditable result.

Italy 1-0 Israel

World Cup Qualifying
Starting XI (4-3-1-2)
Sirigu; Santon, Ranocchia, Bonucci, Siqueiral; Poli, De Rossi, Marchisio, Florenzi; Borini, Destro

Astori, Bonaventura, Insigne

Ranocchia, Poli, Borini

Bonucci (36)

Man of the Match

Another match in which we played rather drab football. We dominated possession but only managed to score one goal from a corner kick despite our apparent superiority over the opposition. Florenzi did a poor job connecting attack and midfield, and I think I best stick with Giovinco or Bonaventura in that role from now on. This was our last qualifying match, and now we prepare for the World Cup with friendlies!

An amazing qualifying campaign for us in which we were undefeated, our only two draws coming home and away against France. Mattia Destro was on rampant goalscoring form and he is now only 5 goals away from Baggio's record of 27 for Italy. The team looks ready to take on the World Cup next summer!
You won the group in the italian way! 0-0 and 1-0. Congrats!
AAN: Yep, some accidental catenaccio :))
Over nine months since this thread started and surely a year has gone since this story has started (if we remember the unfortunate incident regarding your original story being deleted by a certain someone *cough* randy :P )

Neal, YOU are the greatest story writer which FM Scout has ever had, you've inspired hundreds to try their hand at writing, if not thousands! I just want to say how proud I am to have been a good friend of yours during this time, watching your writing ability blossom and grow with every update. Neal, you alone inspired me to write stories, including the Vauxhall one :P Unfortunately all good stories have to come to an end sometime for them to hit legendary status, but hopefully that is a long way away with this story! :P

Keep marching on my friend. Us, the people of FM Scout, will continue to support you through thick and through thin, through wind and through rain. Neal, you are our hero, (time for the cheesiness!) and You'll Never Walk Alone!
Justice: Wow mate, thanks, that was unexpected but meant a lot. I'm really flattered and really thankful that you enjoy my story so much, and hopefully I'll be able to continue to write and enjoy this story until the very end :)

Man of the Match

After just 10 games, our excellent 9-1-0 record and incredible +25 goal difference leaves us sitting a full 8 points above second placed Parma. Ranocchia and Luiz have been outstanding at the back and may just be the best pairing in the world. I know it's only 10 weeks in, but we are showing our title-winning strength.

In the middle of this stretch of domestic matches, we had two straight games in which we won by only one goal and played rather poor football. This, combined with the poor play of Raheem Sterling this year on the right wing, had led me to play a 4-3-1-2 against Lazio, in which we won 4-1. Hopefully with this formation from my first few years at the club, we can recapture the good form of Philippe Coutinho and the team as a whole.

After this long stretch of Serie A games, next up are is a match against Sampdoria sandwiched between two big UEFA Champions League group stage games. After that, the Derby della Madonnina against our archrivals AC Milan, and let me tell you, the boys are ready to win!
Pumping literally everyone in Italy. Forza Inter.
You're playing great football mate!
Walter: Forza Inter!

AAN: Cheers bud :)
Wow, great results mate and one of the best stories! Keep it up!
