i agree that van buyten had a wonderfull carreer till now. He got experience but i think that in real life you have with vermaelen and even alderweild and vertonghen better defenders. He is also not getting younger and you need to think of building a team that will last longer than brazil 2014.
You can still keep him a board as back up with all his experience but that's all
Dunno how often I will use Van Buyten, because I obviously have the North London cbs, Vertonghen and Vermaelen.
Great start, and awesome updates.
I believe Belgium can have a great team for the next years if you do well, and I believe yes :)
Also, I guess I remember Mpenza from my old football games, but I'm not pretty sure if it is the same. He was usefull.

Good luck in Belgium :D

Oh well, one of them I guess :)
I'm not sure cause have been really very much time ago.
I'd go for a 3-5-2 so that you can play Kompany, Vermaelen and Vertonghen!

Several key players such as Thomas Vermaelen and Jean-François Gillet have been ruled out injured, and will not be returning to the Belgium stadium. There have been some surprise inclusions, such as Ernest Nfor, a Cameroonian forward who has not been capped by his home country and has only recently been named an official citizen of Belgium, but the squad is mainly what was to be expected.

Belgium Squad Announced For World Cup Qualifications

The Following players will be in the squad against Croatia and Wales in Belgium's first two World Cup Qualification games.

Forwards
Christian Benteke (Aston Villa), Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea), Dolly Menga (Torino), Jelle Vossen (Genk)
Midfielders
Bernard Malanda (Zulte Wargem), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Mousa Dembele (Tottenham), Thorgan Hazard (Zulte Wargem), Kevin Mirallas (Everton), Marouane Fellani (Chelsea), Funso Ojo (Beerschot), Axel Witsel (Zenit), Paul-Jose Mpoku (Standard)
Defenders
Toby Alderweireld (Ajax), Laurens De Bock (Club Brugge), Timothy Derijck (Gladbach), Sebastien Pocognoli (Hannover), Daniel Van Buyten (Bayern Munich), Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal), Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham)
Goalkeepers
Thibaut Courtois (At. Madrid), Jean-François Gillet (Torino), Kristof Van Hout (Genk)

Captain Vincent Kompany will be absent in this game, following a serious hamstring injury that could put him out for several months. It is believed while he is out, Jean-François Gillet will step in as skipper. Mbo Mpenza has included some names that are not regulars in the squad today, but revealed why to press. Simon Mignolet is also not included in the squad, most likely due to the own goal he conceded in a friendly against Russia.

"I have picked some people that where not expected for the world cup qualification. The reason I did this was that they have all been playing well. If players are in form, they deserve call ups. If a mediocre player is in great form, they should always be played ahead of the best player in the world who is out of form. That is just how it goes."
-Mbo Mpenza
