Belgium Squad Announced For Czech Rep Friendly

Below is the confirmed team that will be, at home, facing Czech Republic:

Forwards
Romelu Lukaku (West Brom), Benamin Mokulu (Lokeren), Tom De Sutter (Anderlecht)
Midfielders
Jens Naessens (Zulte Wargem), Leopold Njengo (Genk), Paul-Jose Mpoku (Standard), Dolly Menga (Torino), Kevin De Bruyne (Werder Bremen), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Kevin Mirallas (Everton), Marouane Fellaini (Chelsea), Axel Witsel (Zenit), Alper Uludag (Ingolstadt)
Defenders
Jan Vertonghen (Tottenham), Bernard Malanda (Zulte Wargem), Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal), Gregory Mertens (Cercle Brugge), Vincent Kompany (Man City), Guillaume Gillet (Anderlecht), Jordan Lukaku (Tubize)
Goalkeepers
Thibaut Courtois (At. Madrid), Colin Coosemans (Waasland-Beveren), Frank Boeckx (AA Gent)

Once again it seems Belgium are playing a weaker side than usual, but this time, the surprise faces in the squad have all performed very well recently. For example, Jordan Lukaku has impressed for the Belgium U21s. Some big names have not made it in to the team, but as the game is only a friendly, it is not too much of a shocker.
You'll never win anything with kids sorry, I mean, err, The Children are our future!
3-1 Belgium, can't wait until all your players tun into stars.

Nice win, great game once again, you certainly have an exciting team :D

Hazard Anticipating World Cup

As Belgian players return to their clubs, heading home from Macedonia, most must have confidence in their performance over the qualifiers. So far, they have one all but one game, which ended 3-3 against Scotland.

The table as it stands:

Eden Hazard talked to press before heading back to London to train with his club, Chelsea, the winger being a key player in Mbo Mpenza's Belgium setup, young, fast and skillful, Hazard seems like the perfect choice for any national team.

"I believe we will be at the World Cup in 2014, and I am looking forward to it. It is only rivaled by the Olympics as a sporting competition, and to be a part of it would be amazing. I think our performance so far speaks for itself. We have played every team in the group and won all but one, and that one way away from home. I think we can be unbeaten in the qualifiers. Our only real rivals for the number 1 spot are Croatia, in my opinion. I think the winner of the group will be determined in our next game against Croatia, it will all boil down to that. Either way, I do think we will qualify."
-Eden Hazard
I think you could win the world cup.
Any chance you could screw up in all five games and crash out? :P
It looks like you've won that group, time to build your team for the main event! :)
Just read this all from the start, and so glad I did. A great story Toon, with some good results, and an excellent layout. Easy to read and still looks great. Keep it up, and good luck in the World Cup. I would say in the rest of the qualifiers, but you seem to have stormed it!

Mpenza To Give Chances

Mbo Mpenza has released a statement to fans and, more importantly, Belgian pro footballers everywhere, revealing that if Belgium beat Croatia, he will be willing to give less known players a chance if they are playing well.

"I think that if we defeat Croatia, and Scotland don't dominate their game, then we can look at some less famous players to put in to the squad. So far, I've called up lots of small-name players but few have actually been capped. If we can almost guarantee qualification, then I am ok with putting out less famous people. These sides won't necessarily be weaker, just, not the big starts. Everyone who plays well will be considered.
-Mbo Mpenza

Belgium are currently top of their table, trailed by Croatia. It seems Mpenza's plans will all rely on if they win or they do not. Last time the two sides met, they played in Croatia, and Belgium were victorious, meaning fans are hopeful for getting all 6 points out of them.
