Season Draws Near

Just a week until the start of the new Ryman Isthmian season, and Gary Neville's Carshalton were preparing for their away clash with Wingate and Finchley. The bookies have it down as a tight affair but The Robins gaffer has had his say on the game.

Neville : "It will be a good game, both sides have technical footballers who like to play the ball on the ground,It will be tight. Some of the lads we brought in over summer will feature, maybe 4 of the 8. I am happy with the current squad and believe we have what it takes to challenge for promotion this season, I must say being put down as 20-1 by the bookmakers was a bit of a shock but we hope to prove them wrong"

When asked about how his side was preparing for the new season, Wingate and Finchley manager Dave Norman had this to say.

Norman : It will be an honour being in the opposite dugout to Gray Neville, but the objective is 3 points. He is inexperienced as a manager so that may play into our hands, The lads have been preparing well and the pre-season games went well. It will be a fantastic encounter."
COYR.

August

Winsgate and Finchley 0-1 Carshalton

The Robins start the season with a win! A very even game was decided early on when Ola Sogbanmu shot found the net and sent the away fans into a frenzy. A great start to Gary Neville's managerial career.

Carshalton 3-1 Thurrock

Another 3 points and an individual masterclass from Ola Sogbanmu as the young Englishman bagged himself a hat-trick. The fans at the War Memorial stadium sang the praises of the players who have started the league campaign like a house on fire.

September - October

Overall a good two months winning 6 out of our 12 games and only losing one in the league. To be honest I would nearly prefer getting knocked out in cups as it just adds to an already hectic fixture schedule. The biggest win of the month without question was the one away vs Lowestoft, The favourites to win the division. We managed to pick up 15 out of a possible 24 points which leaves us sitting 1st in the table having played more games than some others. Here is our player of the Month(s)

Player Of The Month

Ola Sogbanmu has been in lethal form for The Robins bagging 9 goals in 7 games this season. He was in lethal form this month especially in the big game away to Lowestoft where the Target Man bagged himself a brace and managed an assist to round off a superb preformance.

New Signings this month

Jake Reeds, A young striker from Dag and Red brought in on loan to give us more options up front.

League Table

Carshalton are 1st, 1 point ahead of 2nd
9 goals in 7 games with 5 finishing and composure :)) Keep up the good work and hopefully you will get promoted :D

I know! Ah he's only 20 so hopefully if he keeps preforming like he is they will improve, To be fair he is a target man!
A nice start Dean, keep it up!
Keep it up buddy :)
A really nice start mate.

November

Far too many draws this month means that Lowestoft now have a decent lead at the top. The unbeaten run in the league stretches to 11 but I want the league title and draws won't do it for us! Not too worried about being not out of the cup (even to lower league opposition) just means fixture congestion lightens up. Lowestoft are the enemy and they are looking far too comfortable! The goal for next month is to stop shipping goals in and stop drawing!

Player Of The Month

Despite the goals let in this month, Center back David Ray was outstanding throughout. He leads by example at the back and even popped up with a few goals.

League Table

Carshalton are 2nd, 6 points off 1st
Keep it up mate, you are doing incredible!!
