RandydeB: I don't actually know if he's any good, but a lot of scouts suggested him, so at that price it's worth a go!

Glenn T: I know, but it knocks 30k off of the wage bill every week. ;)

neal09: I hope so, if they start improving!

k1rups: Thanks, glad you're enjoying it! Hopefully we'll smash 'em! ;)

Baines Agrees To Move

After months of long, hard, tiring discussions, David Moyes has finally agreed a deal to bring former left back Leighton Baines to Manchester, joining Moyes and Fellaini. It is reported that negotiations began in July, immediately after the sale of Patrice Evra to Milan, but only now, in September, have United and Everton agreed a deal for the 27 year old.

Everton were initially asking for a staggering £60 million, but David refused to pay. However, when Baines heard about this, he was unhappy and asked to be placed on the transfer list. Everton lowered the asking price to £21 million, but Moyes accepted, and agreed on a contract. United didn't have enough money in the transfer budget though, so had to cancel the transfer. Everton then set the price at £26 million, which PSG wouldn't agree to. Finally, with the price lowered to £17.5 million, both Manchester United and Everton agreed a fee for Leighton.

Baines started his career at Wigan, following through League 1 and then the Championship, finally to the Premier League. With over 100 starts David Moyes retained the services of Baines at Everton for just £6 million in 2007. Leighton Baines has now currently played 134 games with Everton, scoring 11 goals, and will play just a few more in an Everton shirt.

Leighton Baines will join Manchester United on 1st January 2013 for a fee of £17.5 million.
£60 million? Outrageous! Well done on getting him for that fee! How is Buttner doing for you?
k1rups: I was so shocked, and mortified! And actually, PSG tried a £45 million bid, and that was rejected. I think there was one week where my save went mad, as they then wouldn't agree to £26 million about 2-3 weeks after! Without trying to be bias about my favourite United player he's done pretty well. His value is now £4.6 million, which I believe has probably doubled. In competitive games, he's played 6 games, has 2 assists, yet to score or be booked, with an average rating of 7.23, so not bad for a youngster who shouldn't really be playing every week. He earned his first cap for Holland last week to. I'm a proud manager. :P
This is awesome!! Keep it up buddy!

Liverpool are in the right place in the league;)
Liambrocklesby: Cheers pal, will do. :P

TCO: You'll like Southampton are in the next update then. ;)

September 2012 Results Part 2

After a poor start to September, including an appalling result against Galatasary, the squad really have to turns thing around in these games to show they mean business, and most importantly, keep them in the cups.

Manchester United 2-0 Everton

Thursday 20th September 2012 - Capital One Cup 3rd Round - Old Trafford - Att. 42,002

United Starting XI - De Gea, Smalling, Ferdinand, Vidic, Rafael, Scholes, Carrick, Fellaini, Kagawa, Lewandowski, Hernandez SUBS - Lindegaard, Buttner, Jones, Evans, Giggs, Welbeck, Fierro

SUBS - Buttner, Jones, Giggs

GOALS - Lewandowski (3) Hernandez (5)

MOTM - Rio Ferdinand

Yes! This is what we needed. A win for Moyes against his former club, going through to the next round, and most importantly, goals from the strikers! And so early on! We set ourselves up nicely with the two goals, and then played defensively for the rest of the game, knowing the potential Everton have when attacking. Hopefully we can beat Everton again in the league later this month.

Swansea City 0-2 Manchester United

Saturday 22nd September 2012 - Barclays Premier League - Liberty Stadium - Att. 19,221

United Starting XI - De Gea, Buttner, Vidic, Ferdinand, Smalling, Fellaini, Jones, Kagawa, Rooney, Lewandowski, Hernandez SUBS - Lindegaard, Rafael, Evans, Giggs, Carrick, Scholes, Fierro

SUBS - Giggs, Evans, Fierro

GOALS - Smalling (14) Hernandez (24)

INJURED - Lewandowski (Bruised Ribs, 2 days)

MOTM - Chris Smalling

We are definitely back on track. It may only be Swansea, but we played away after a shaky start to the season and grabbed another three points. Another clean sheet too. Both De Gea and Lindegaard have played brilliantly so far, meaning Adan hasn't had a chance to perform yet! Hopefully this form continues, in both the league and Europe.

Manchester United 4-0 Everton

Sunday 30th September 2012 - Barclays Premier League - Old Trafford - Att. 75,765

United Starting XI - De Gea, Buttner, Vidic, Ferdinand, Smalling, Fellaini, Carrick, Cleverley, Rooney, Lewandowski, van Persie SUBS - Lindegaard, Rafael, Evans, Kagawa, Scholes, Hernandez, Fierro

SUBS - Evans, Kagawa, Fierro

GOALS - Lewandowski (30, 59, 74) van Persie (42)

MOTM - Robert Lewandowski

Another brilliant result, against a top side. After a great 2-0 win, we've gone and smashed them a week later 4-0. It's amazing Lewandowski scored his first league goal, and decided to turn it into a hattrick. I'm so happy and so pleased with the boys at the moment, if they carry on like this they deserve to win everything this year. Bring on October with form like this!

League Table

We've stayed third still, but I don't care about that. We're on the same points as the top two, Tottenham and City, but we've increased our goal difference alot since last time, which will surely help in the next few weeks. It's nice to see Southampton doing well, but I hope we have a game soon to knock them down a bit more.

Player of the Month

Robert Lewandowski. The big price tag that came with Lewandowski, could have been an issue, but he has now seemed to have settled in brilliantly. In the first game against Everton, he grabbed his first goal in the cup, and looked on great form in the next game, although he had to come off early in the second half. With his form, I feel a goal could have been on the cards. However, it was the hattrick against Everton that sealed it. Lewandowski has truly shown he is a master.
Nice results there Devil ;)
Louis O.: Thanks, I'm so glad they've improved, I thought this could be a save I regret doing after the loss in Europe. ;)

United Get Spurs In Fourth Round Draw

Manchester United have been drawn against Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Fourth Round draw of the Capital One Cup. Manchester United previously beat Everton 2-0 in the third round thanks to early goals from strikers Robert Lewandowski and Javier Hernandez, while a Jake Livermore goal just behind halftime gave Tottenham a 1-0 win over Championship club Blackpool.

David Moyes has expressed his interest in bringing home the Capital One Cup, as he believes it is a cup usually can certainly get there hands on comes the end of the season. Meanwhile, Sky Sports have sinced played Manchester United favourites the win the game, through extra time, but also favourites to win the competition, with City in second and Chelsea in third.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will face off before this though, with a Premier League game due to in two weeks time at White Hart Lane, where we will see Moyes in action with United for the first time against Tottenham Hotspur.

The tie will be played at White Hart Lane on Wednesday 31st October 2012.
Tough draw against the Chickens, but I'm confident you can do well. :)

Also, you have the power of 20 crossing come January. They might as well give you the Prem trophy :P
Arvind: Will be very tough against the Chickens, and I can't wait for Baines to arrive!
Baines should be good. Heard he is best left back in the game after 1 or 2 seasons.
Toon: I seriously hope so. I didn't really want to pay more than £15 million for him, so hoping he performs well - and quickly!
