United Draw The Toon In Quarters

Manchester United have been drawn in the Capital One Cup Quarter Final against northern rivals Newcastle United. Manchester United have previously beaten Everton and Tottenham Hotspur to reach the quarter finals, while Newcastle United beat Wigan Athletic and Brighton and Hove Albion. United will go into the game as favourites, but Newcastle could easily turn it around on the day.

Newcastle United will face Manchester United with a similar side to previous fixtures, signing only Steve Sidwell from Fulham for a fee of £3.4 million, after selling players such as Danny Simpson, Nile Ranger Yohan Cabaye. Cabaye will surely be missed during the game after his £20 million move to Manchester rivals City.

In the Premier League Manchester United are currently sitting in 3rd place with 20 points, while Newcastle United are in 6th place with 15 points. The two sides will face each other two weeks before the cup tie in the Premier League, also played in Newcastle, being a big test for both sides.

The tie will be played on Wednesday 28th November at St James Park.
Loving those kits! And a very winnable game against the Toon
The match reports are just really, really epic :D
k1rups: Thanks pal, I hope we can do it!

Glenn: Haha thanks, I'm glad you like them, they take forever to do! ;)
Should easily beat that wee club in the North-East ;)

Moyes: 'De Gea Is One Of The Greats'

Today in a post match interview, David Moyes stated he felt Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea is one of the greats. After some rotating between the three first team goalkeepers, David De Gea has appeared as one of the finest in the world. David De Gea hasn't conceded a goal for over 350 minutes in all competitive games, last conceding against PSG on the 3rd October, exactly a month ago today. Meanwhile, in the premier league, he has played in 10 games, and is yet to concede.

Moyes told us 'David has been brilliant this year. He had been making brilliant saves, helping everyone out, and also helping out with Lindegaard and new signing Antonio [Adan]. His record this season just shows how good is he, not many, if any, other goalkeepers have gone 10 league games without conceding this year. David De Gea is one of the greats, and he will be key in helping us lift title number twenty this year.'

David De Gea joined Manchester United from Atletico Madrid in 2011, for a fee of £17.25 million. At the start of his English career, fans weren't sure, but as the season progressed fell in love with the goalkeeping of De Gea. Last season he played 29 games for the Red Devils.

David is valued at £9 million and currently earning £50k per week.
Always rated De Gea even when people were doubting him last season! Nice to see Moyes thinks the same ;)
De gea is a very good goalkeeper and not only in the game. In fm however he was class untill 2024 he then started to decline a bit, so i think you will have a good keeper for quite a while.
He is a fantastic Keeper, more so in the game than real life but still
k1rups: Love a bit of De Gea. I loved him when he was at Atletico Madrid!

RandydeB: I want him to stay for a long, long time, maybe even retire at the club. ;)

The Special one: Hope he is!
