UEFA Champions League Group Analysis

With the groups drawn for the UEFA 2012/13 Champions League, Group C looks to be one of the toughest groups. Who will reach the knockout stages, and who do they have to help them get there. Predictions from many famous pundits are also included.

Group C:

Galatasary
Valencia
Manchester United
PSG

Galatasary SK

Devils Prediction: 3rd
Justices Prediction: 3rd
MRJKs Prediction: 4th
Louis Os prediction: 3rd

Key Player: Wesley Sneijder

Galatasary are a team who are only getting stronger and stronger. Managing to bring in players such as Wesley Sneijder, Didier Drogba and Burak Yilmaz, Galatasary may seem like underdogs, but could be the ones to shock Europe. Faith Terim likes to play a passing game, with hints of attacking, meaning he and Galatasary could pull off a shock in Group C. Galatasary have become the biggest club in Turkey thanks their attacking success and solid defending, and will want to add a Champions League trophy to their many Turkish honours.

Paris Saint-Germain

Devils Prediction: 1st
Justices Prediction: 2nd
MRJKs Prediction: 2nd
Louis Os prediction: 2nd

Key Player: Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Paris Saint-Germain, or PSG as they are most commonly known as, are one of the teams to beat in the competition. Following improvements with the financial side of the club, PSG managed to bring in many top players, such as Ibrahimovic, Verratti, Lucas, Thiago Silva,Lavezzi and Beckham, meaning there side has become one of the best in Europe. They have a force to be beckoned with when attacking, but their defense is their weak point, having Silva, but not much else to help out at the back. Chemistry can also be an issue, meaning PSG may not have quite enough to solidly take the top spot, but will certainly fight for it.

Valencia CF

Devils Prediction: 4th
Justices Prediction: 4th
MRJKs Prediction: 3rd
Louis Os prediction: 4th

Key Player: Roberto Soldado

Valencia may not be known for the money, or the players, and have tough competition to fight with in Spain, with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid dominating, with Atletico Madrid gradually keeping up, but Valencia can put up a fight against any team. Having made players such as David Villa and David Silva, Valencia are no strangers when it comes to world class players. Players such as Soldado, Feghouli and Rami will certainly try to get the vital points needed to progress, but they face some tough competition, also fighting for the points to ensure they are through to the next round. It will certainly be a tough few games for the Spanish side.
This is a very tough group, although I reckon you will go through top :)
Should come top here mate! May be a touch group but you are better than all three! Good luck :)
Justice: Nice to know I have your support, thanks.

BeanyUnited: I hope so, thanks! :)

Moyes: 'I Want Jagielka at Old Trafford'

David Moyes has today announced he wants to add to his signings of Everton players Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines, with centre back Phil Jagielka. Moyes announced his intentions during the latest post-match conference, suggesting his very good friendship with Jagielka, combined with his skills and talents on and off the ball, would make him a perfect defender at Old Trafford.

Phil Jagielka, now 30, joined Everton under David Moyes for £4 million from Sheffield United in 2007, and has currently played 149 for the Toffees, managing to score 4 goals. Jagielka has become renowned for his tackling, marking and determination on and off the ball, having the perfect abilities to be a captain. Jagielka is currently valued at £7 million, but it is expected a bid of around £12 million would be needed to get Jagielka to Manchester.

Phil is currently on £50k per week at Goodison Park, with his current contract expiring in 2017. If Moyes to attempt to sign Jagielka, it is expected he was require a wage of £60-65k per week, with some bonuses. However, the price may prove to be too much for Moyes to want to spend.

David Moyes currently has Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand holding the defensive line, but with both aging, the pair will also have so long left at a club like Manchester United. He also has Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans available, but it has been reported that he feels Smalling and Jones are too inexperienced to work together, and Evans is not at a high enough level to run the defense.

David Moyes has also been linked with bringing Darron Gibson and Tim Howard back to Old Trafford.
Not sure what quality Jagielka would bring to Old Trafford but i would like to see him here
Just like i real life, Cheeky Devil :P I'm loving this so far, hard luck with the group. Field your best team for PSG and DON'T GET COMPLACENT and use a weaker team for Gala or Valencia, tell your players that as well! Good luck for SoTM
Amazing Devil
sedsosedso: I agree he wouldn't be brilliant, but the media linked me to him, thought I'd take advantage of that for the story.

lolbaconboy: With that combined with the reason above I couldn't leave him out. I doubt I will sign him to be honest, but I've scouted him. Tough group, but thanks. Cheers buddy, I'll definitely use that advice! :)

georgeevans: Thanks pal! :D
