Well, Cambridge City and AFC Hornchurch were effectively minnows, but the Hornchurch result wasn't in any real question after the first goal got knocked in. I think I just got some beginners' luck and started to overplay my hand in the league. We were missing two important players in Salt and Moke, and I think when Salt comes back into the fold the club will return to form.
Not the best results lately but your team seem capable of staying up for sure! Keep it up

Standings

We're still very comfortably out of the relegation zone and not too far off the playoff zone, we just need to keep doing well and avoid stupid losses.

January 2017

Matches

Cheltenham 1 - 1 FC Halifax

FC Halifax 3 - 0 Port Vale

FC Halifax 5 - 1 Alfreton

Grimsby 0 - 3 FC Halifax

Transfers and Other News

January 2: At Barnsley's request, they have loaned striker Gethin Stone to Halifax until the end of the season.
January 5: Midfielder Scott Courtney signed to Halifax. Though not as good as his 4 star potential advertised before his signing, I still think he can be a good spot sub since he can play all three mids, but I was hoping he would be a long-term replacement for Adriano Moke.
January 15: Jamie Blake's loan finishes.
January 16: John Mensah's loan finishes.
January 24: John Mensah moves to Nantwich on a free transfer.
January 27: Lyle Hawkes's loan finishes.
January 29: Harry Foy loaned to Guiseley for 3 months; Guiseley will pay 70% of Foy's salary.

Injuries

January 8: Darren Hurst suffered a twisted knee and will be out 4 weeks.
January 16: Adriano Moke suffered a sports hernia during training and will be out 6-7 weeks.

Standings

Just as I say a playoff spot isn't realistic, we start inching towards one. We still have a deficit to overcome, but it isn't impossible.
Especially with Gethin Stone. Since being loaned to Halifax, he's had 4 goals, 2 assists, and a 8.57 average rating in three appearances.
Great month for Halifax. If you carry on in that vein of form I don't see why play-offs can't be a likelihood. :)

February 2017

Matches

FC Halifax 3 - 1 AFC Wimbledon

FC Halifax 1 - 3 Kidderminster

Dag and Red 1 - 1 FC Halifax

Transfers and Other News

(January 31): Halifax gets Paul McCallum from Shrewsbury on a free transfer, he is on a 525 pound/week deal.
February 7: Connor Hedley loaned to Guiseley to get him some first-team football.
February 14: Dave Knaggs loan finishes.

Injuries

- None

Standings

A worse month than expected, but if we get that mythical run going, a playoff spot isn't too outlandish a thought.
Bit of a blip, but you can bounce back! :)

March 2017

Matches

Macclesfield 2 - 1 FC Halifax

FC Halifax 1 - 1 Burton

FC Halifax 2 - 1 Oxford City

Cambridge 0 - 0 FC Halifax

Transfers and Other News

March 15: Halifax have loaned Kenny Lodge to Workington for 2 months. Workington will pay his wages and can pay 8,000 pounds to permanently transfer him.
March 18: Sean May transferred from FC Halifax to Ashton United on a free.

Injuries

March 7: Paul McCallum suffered a torn hamstring against Burton and will be out 3-4 months.

Standings

Wafula's been on fire as of late, but I need the forwards to start joining in the goalscoring once again. We are 8 points out of a playoff spot with 12 available points left to earn. According to FM, it's not impossible, but the door is almost shut.

(By the way, Steven Gerrard is the current manager of Boston United, and had them top table, but are currently 4 points out of first. In addition, thanks everyone who views this story, this story is at 2000 views, my first story to do so!)
Unlucky there not shaking off the poor form completely. Play offs look a mile away, but I believe in miracles! :)

April 2017

Matches

Gateshead 1 - 4 FC Halifax

FC Halifax 1 - 2 Hereford

FC Halifax 0 - 0 Dartford

Altrincham 4 - 1 FC Halifax

Transfers and Other News

April 2: Paul Marshall signed a new contract that extends through the next season.

Injuries

April 1: Karl Radburn suffered a sprained ankle against Gateshead and will be out between 7 weeks and 2 months.
April 17: Liam Wakefield suffered a torn hamstring against Altrincham and will be out 3-4 months.

Standings

It's a disappointment that the playoffs were out of reach for us, but this is a great post-promotion campaign and we have a lot of positives we can build on.

Scouting Overhaul

The entire Halifax scouting department was fired after the season. Jamie Jackson was announced as FC Halifax's new Chief Scout soon after. Halifax is still looking for another Scout to work underneath Jackson.

Steven Leslie Released

In a sad day for FC Halifax fans, their favorite Steven Leslie has been released by Halifax in anticipation of his contract expiring on June 30. The club appreciates all that he has done for them, but they felt that 700 pounds a week was way too much to pay for a declining player. Halifax will have to make a new start at left midfielder for next season.

FC Halifax Turns Pro

On June 25, 2017, the FC Halifax board, and manager Shylo Elliott, held a press conference to announce the club's turning professional. "This club is like a little baby, and I've been honored to be allowed to nurture that baby as it has been crawling around. Turning pro means this club is walking around now. Its taking its first steps. Slow and steady, but eventually we'll get used to it, and we'll want to start running now."
