A Pillar of Salt!
If anyone can be called the hero in FC Halifax's Playoff Final victory against Solihull Moors, it has to be their leading goalscorer, and the Player of the Match, Damien Salt. He had two goals on the match, the biggest of which is the 119th minute lifeline after Halifax blew a 2-1 lead and was a goal down themselves. Left back Smith Tiesse played a little through ball to Steven Leslie, who crossed it to Sam O'Connor. O'Connor was tackled, but the ball rolled towards Salt, who buried it in the goal. Salt also scored during Halifax's perfect shootout. The nineteen year old, who helped nudge former favorite Lee Gregory out of the lineup on a regular basis, was a natural choice to save the day for Halifax, and the supporters are cheering his name throughout Halifax Town!
