PLATT’S RETURN

David Platt has returned to Arsenal Football Club as a coach on a five year deal.

Platt played for the Gunners during the George Graham era in 1995 before Arsene Wenger released the Englishman in his final days as a footballer.

He represented the likes of Aston Villa and Sampdoria in the early nineties, establishing himself as a full England international especially under the late Sir Bobby Robson.

Platt was Manchester City’s first team coach just last season but left shortly after Roberto Mancini’s departure.

Queens Park Rangers had picked him up but Platt has now decided to pursue his coaching at Arsenal.

NO HENRY CONTRACT

Stan Kroenke has stated there will be no negotiations with current Arsenal manager, Thierry Henry over a new contract.

Henry's Capital One Cup win ended Arsenal’s trophy drought last month and has fuelled talk over his contract expiry, prompting him to call for a renewal.

However Kroenke, Arsenal’s majority shareholder has refused to offer a new contract just yet.

“It is mid-season and we still have a lot to attain. We must focus on our targets before making commitments to new ones.

“Henry still has time and work left and until we see the end of the season, we will not negotiate as we do not deem it as appropriate.”
What a [BEEP]!!!
Great cup win. Shame about the contract negotiations

ARTETA TO WORK WITH OX

Mikel Arteta is to mentor Arsenal hotshot Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain over the coming months Thierry Henry has revealed.

The ‘Ox’ has been in rich form of late with a large portion of appearances coming from the wings but there has been speculation of Chamberlain moving to a more central since Arsene Wenger’s days.

Henry feels Arteta’s experience will be of huge benefit to the 19 year old and can be the difference for him in becoming a world beater.

“Arteta for me is one of the best central midfielders in the League. He has a total football brain and his experience will help players like Chamberlain.

“Chamberlain is a player I feel can play in the middle but if he wants to become a great, versatility will take him a long way and Mikel has a lot to teach him in that respect.”

Arsenal’s EA SPORTS Player of the Month

Santi Cazorla
He’s been close to winning the award every single time and this month he has finally got it. Many stepped off the pace and he continued to prove his qualities in what was an average month by our standards this season

Manager Movement

Real Sociedad – Roberto Martinez – NEW MANAGER
Werder Bremen – Ronald Koeman - NEW MANAGER
Roma – Aurelio Andreazolli - SACKED
Wigan Athletic – Malky Mackay – NEW MANAGER

Arsenal’s Annual Youth Intake

Lokine Mohammed

Supposedly the best play from his generation. East Sudan has a star for sure. Do Arsenal?

Thierry’s Verdict – We started in typical fashion but I haven’t got a clue what happen midway through but we took our foot of the pedal and let Spurs creep up on us. Still top but we must improve next month if we are to win the remainder of our trophies.
Unlucky v spurs & scum - the youngster will be well good

Arsenal’s EA SPORTS Player of the Month

Santi Cazorla
A difficult month for Arsenal but the little Spaniard once again starred. Not his best month as he suffered quite a bit from fatigue, as did all of Arsenal’s players but Cazorla still continued to turn in performances of great quality, making him a serious contender for PFA Player of the Year.

Thierry’s Verdict: “The fatigue is getting the better of us at the moment and we are almost crawling to the finish line now which is a worry. We were outclassed by Chelsea, dropped points in the league and were blown out of the water by Celtic who are having a terrific season. Spurs are knocking on our door in 2nd place but two more wins and we will seal the title. I believe we can do it. Massive month next month and we will need to produce something legendary if we are to make it into the Champions’ League final versus what seems to be against Barcelona at first sight. Very difficult… but possible.
Of all teams, Celtic stuff you - Tough games
