Nice story mate, great progression! Well done for sticking it out with the US after a tough WC. Congrats for the Ligue 1 triumph too, keep it up :)

Standings

We should win this group pretty easy. One surprise in the other groups is tiny Curacao, who drew with Mexico and are 2nd in their group, we'll see if they have the strength to make it to the Hexagonal. Next, the Copa America!

AS Monaco have signed Xabi Alonso and Siem de Jong, formerly of Real Madrid and Ajax, respectively, in an effort to field greater depth for an increased amount of fixtures. Alonso is 34 and only signed to a 1 year contract, while Siem de Jong is only 27 and signed to a 3 year contract. Nathan Limior had this to say "Obviously Xabi Alonso is past his peak as a footballer, but when you were amazing as a footballer in your prime, past your peak is still very good. I'm not sure why Ajax let Siem go, however. He's still 27, he looked great to us. I think he'll be a steal."

United States 2 - 1 Uruguay

United States 0 - 1 Ecuador

Standings

It's really annoying to know we didn't qualify from this group. We should have beaten Ecuador and Venezuela, and bad luck was the only thing preventing us from doing so.
