And Now

After being relegated to Serie B in the 2008-2009 season, Torino F.C have languished there for the past 3 seasons. This season however, things have to change. For the sake of the name il grande torino, promotion has to be achieved this season.

The stadium:
Stadio Olimpico di Turin, a 27,993 seater stadium built for Benito Mussolini, and recently upgraded for the 2006 winter Olympics.

Goals:
To make the team worthy of the name il grande torino once more.
Promotion to Serie A; 1-2 seasons
Champions Serie A; 2-5 seasons
Champions League Qualification; 3-5 seasons
Champions League Winners; 4-6 seasons
Good goals, ambitious but on the right track, good work! :)

True ;)

Ventura Out, Grella In

Sensational news out of Stadio Olimpico Di turin today, as is has been revealed that Giampiero Ventura has left the club. We do not know why he has left the club yet, but witnesses have stated that they heard a massive argument going on, with the belief that the president of the club, Urbano Cairo’s wife was having an affair with the manager of the club, Giampiero Ventura. These are allegations of course, but only time will tell if they are true. In even more amazing news today, Torino FC have already signed a new manager for the season ahead, with the recently (read about twenty minutes ago) retired Vincenzo Grella. Grella is a former player at the club, and also has very strong ties to Italy through family and having spent many years playing there. He also has 46 caps for Australia. With this being Grella’s first venture into the world of football management, many of il toro’s fans are worried yet excited about the clubs next chapter. More to follow as we find out more about what went on behind the scenes.
Grella! Great choice of manager :D And what a naughty person Ventura is! :O
Walter: Why thank you. And we don't know for certain what happened ;)
These 'the old manager walked out of the club because he fucked the chairman's wife' stories are getting old :P

Interesting choice of manager and I look forward to what Vincenzo Grella can do at Torino!

Glenn: it's safe to say that I could think of absolutely nothing else, although there is a twist. The manager choice is interesting, but being an aussie, and having played for Torino made him worthy. Hope you follow.
Interesting update there........ IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN

1 on One with Vincenzo Grella

Good afternoon and welcome to a FM Scout TV special. I’m Lachie Walter and my guest today is none other than the newly announced manager of Torino F.C, Vincenzo Grella.

Walter: First of all, welcome Vince, and thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule today to speak with FM Scout TV.
Grella: No worries Lachie, I’m glad to get out of the office.
Walter: Alrighty then, glad to see we could be useful. Now first question, Why the sudden decision to retire and get straight into management, and why Torino?
Grella: Well Lachie, the decision was simple, I’ve been struck by injuries quite a bit recently, and I knew that my time in the game was coming to an end, so I decided to get my coaching badges so I could stay involved in the game in another role. And as for my choice of club, they had a vacancy after the recent events with Giampiero, and I loved the club during the time I spent there as a player.
Walter: Fair enough. As I am sure everyone is wondering, do you know anything of what led to mr. Ventura quitting his role at the club?
Grella: No I don’t, I haven’t bothered to ask, and I’m sure all will be revealed in due time.
Walter: Ok then. So what do you want achieve with Torino?
Grella: First of all, I want to get the club out of Serie B, preferably at the first time of asking. Then, I would like to push on and win the Serie A, as well as qualifying for the UEFA Champions League as soon as possible. A victory in that competition would be the icing on the cake. All in all, I want to make this team worthy once again of the name il grande torino.
Walter: One last question as we have just about run out of time, what do you think of the current squad? Are there any changes that are needed to be made?
Grella: It is a good quality squad, although there is strengthening needed in some areas. In terms of who may be coming in and /or out, all will be revealed in due time.
Walter: Well there you have it, Vince Grella’s thoughts on his new job, the club and what went on with Giampiero Ventura. Thanks once again Vince, and I hope football management will be good to you. I’m Lachie Walter, and this was 1 on one. See you next time.
Ooh, nice post. Nice presentation, let's see if you have the managing chops to back it up! (I'm sure you do.)

wellsy: I do know what you mean, but there is a twist coming later on in the story. ;)
eb: Thanks for that. I wonder what you mean by managing chops?
