Muller Signs For City
The German had a great season for Bayern Munich last year and was voted as the 3rd best player in the Bundesliga. Muller did not start the season well but once he started to play games he managed to score 11 goals and get 3 assists.
The forward was instrumental in Bayern’s run to the Champions League final but his efforts were not enough as Bayern Munich lost to Man United 1-0.
Pep Guardiola said that he was sad to see him go but he also felt that the fee was too good to turn down.
“Thomas is a great player. He has been great for the club in recent years and he will be a success at Man City. I am happy with the fee as I felt it was just too good to turn down. I can’t disclose the details of the transfer but it may rise to just under £50M”.
“I want to wish him the best for the future and I know he will do well”.
The Spanish manage was then asked if he was to be signing any replacements and told the press that he felt his attacking options were good enough.
“I have some young lads coming through and I feel they deserve a chance. I want to concentrate on the defence and there will be some signings soon. I will only sign players if another player in their position leaves the club. I am working on some signings and we will have something to announce soon”.
David Van Buyten is the only big name to have left the Alianz this season but more departures are expected as Pep Guardiola strengthens his squad for the forthcoming season.
A fantastic player no doubt but when a price like that comes knocking, I don't blame you for selling
2013-08-10 17:56#126778 LFC : Wow, big decision but great price for him.It is a shame to see him go but the £££ was too good to turn down
2013-08-10 18:07#126779 P-KIDDY : A fantastic player no doubt but when a price like that comes knocking, I don't blame you for sellingOh yes. He was my 2nd best player last season and I rate him a lot. I feel he gives something extra to the team but for that price I could not say no. If I eventually get the full £45M it will almost pay for Bale
Interesting sale there, a good player but you'd be mad not to accept that kind of dosh!

Trio Depart Bayern
Gomez signs for Milan for a fee of £12.5M and will link up with his new team on Monday. Many fans are unhappy about the departure but Guardiola ensured the fans that it was the right one for the club.
“I feel Mario is declining as a player and the fee is okay. I would have liked a few more Million but no team was interested in signing him. I feel it was time for him to move on and now was the right decision. He has had some poor performances in training and I feel we need a younger more exciting striker”.
Diego Contento joins Schalke for a fee of around £4M and many fans respect the decision and know that it was for the best. Diego spoke to the press earlier about his move.
“I want to thank Pep for all he has done for me over the last year. We had a talk and I knew I was not going to play much so he did all he could and found me a new club so I am grateful for that. I enjoyed my time at Bayern and I wish them all the best for the future”.
Nils Peterson who was on loan last year scored 19 goals in the Bundesliga but found himself transfer listed and made the move to Schalke for a fee of £3.4M.
“I was never going to make it at Bayern so I had to leave to play football. To join Schalke is a big honour and I want to make a difference at my new club”.
