A fantastic month for you.It may be very early in the season but where do you stand in the league? Might be worth adding an update to your posts.

Odd October, Normal November and Dreadful December

The next 3 months were up and down. October was just awful which was strange following on from our fine form in September. In November we went unbeaten but 2 draws versus Udinese and Cagliari is unacceptable in my book but at least it was an improvement on October. December was in my opinion the worst of the three months as we lost 2 games, 1 in the Coppa Italia first round to lower league opposition and also drew 2 of our other games whilst only just beating Torino

League Table

I am extremely disappointed with where we are currently sitting in the league table. We have aspirations of champions league football but only the top 3 qualify. However it is quite funny to see Lazio in the bottom 3!

Ouch, indifferent months but overall a good spot in the table. :)

Well its actually quite a crap place in the table but okay thanks!!

Heh.
SIXTH PLACE!? WE WERE PROMISED CHAMPS LEAGUE FOOTBALL NEXT SEASON! #FabioOut

In all honesty, though, not horrible. You're only 4 points off the top 3 with a game in hand, so if you just pick it up a little bit you'll climb up the table in no time. Keep it up :)

Roma Taken Over By Rich Arab Tycoons

Late Last night a deal was agreed between the current Roma owners and a trio of Rich Arab Oil tycoons to buy over the club for a huge fee.

Ali Ben Khaleefa and Neal Hasan have bought over AS Roma for a fee thought to be approximately £500,000,000. A mysterious man who goes by the name "The Rablador" is also a part of the takeover in which he will become a 20% owner with Ben Khaleefa and Hasan having the other 80% split between them (50% Neal and 30% Ali). Hasan was delighted with the deal tweeting :

"Me, Rabster and Ali have taken over Roma. #newera #championsleaguefootball #bigsignings."

The last hashtag has excited many Roma fans as they prepare themselves for an overhaul of the playing staff with majority shareholder Neal prepared to give manager Fabio Cannavaro a huge £130,000,000 war chest to use to snap up the best talent on the market. However Neal has stated he would prefer if the majority of the deals are for players under the age of 25, maybe with one exception maximum. This makes it clear that Neal wants Fabio to build for the future and sign potential stars. It is rumoured that Fabio is interested in signing Christian Eriksen and Paco Alcacer, 2 superb young talents.

Neal has also stated that Fabio Cannavaro will be given until at least the end of the season to show why he deserves his job but he also stressed that if Roma didnt get Champions League football, Fabios contract would be terminated.

Finally though, current chairman James Pallotta will remain as chairman. Neal stressed that stability was key for the club and Pallotta has been an integral part of the Roma set up.

Finally Neal has decided on the minimum aims that the club will set out to achieve in the next 4 years. They are as follows :

Season 1

- Finish Top 3
- Have at least 1 player in team of the season
- Give youth opportunities

Season 2

- Finish top 2
- Get to last 16 of Champions League minimum
- Achieve a semi final place in the Coppa Italia

Season 3

- Win the League
- Get to the quarter finals of the Champions League
- Win the Coppa Italia

Season 4

- Win the League for the second time
- Win the Champions League.
- Win the Coppa Italia
Excited to see what Emma and Wiz Khalifa can bring to the club! Up the Roma! :P
I have high expectations, Fabio. Don't let me down. The rest of my comments on this story will be from the viewpoint of new owner Neal Hasan :P

Cannavaro Makes Triple Signing

AS Roma, complete with their new found money have moved quickly to snap up 3 players from the Barclays premier League.

Raul Albiol joined AS Roma from Manchester United for a fee thought to be about £7,000,000, a bargain for a top quality centre back. The solid defender joined Manchester United in the Summer of 2012 for a fee of £10,000,000. He made just 5 appearances in an injury hit 6 months in which he never established himself as a starter for the club. He is said to be delighted at joining AS Roma and for the chance to be able to prove he is good enough for Vicente del Bosque to include him in future Spain squads.

Gary Nevilles Verdict - The centre back is much needed due to Roma's lack of quality centre backs. Currently there are only 3 centre backs in the first team squad, Astori, Benatia and Britos so the addition of Albiol was a much needed one. Also £7,000,000 is a great deal for a player of his quality. I give him an :

8/10

Christian Benteke also joined for a huge fee of £30,000,000. The huge powerful striker joined AS Roma from Aston Villa having joined from Genk at the start of the 2012/13 season. Aston Villa made a huge £23,000,000 profit on the towering striker, fantastic business for them. Benteke is hopeful of becoming Roma's target man and becoming Belgium's number one striker. He said the allure of potential Champions League football next season was the clincher in a deal where he will earn £70,000 a week.

Gary Nevilles' Verdict - A beast of a man and a great addition to the Roma strike force. The powerhouse that is Benteke can score with his head and his feet and is lethal inside the penalty area. However I feel Roma already have a strong front line. I give him a :

9/10

Roma activated Mohammed Diames' release clause in his contract for a tiny fee of £3,500,000. The powerful centre midfielder who is strong in the tackle joined from Premier League side West Ham. Mo is said to be chuffed with the deal and is extremely happen to join Roma and is looking forward to playing alongside legends such as Daniele De Rossi and Francesco Totti. Diame is commonly played as an anchor man or defensive midfielder but he can also play as a deep lying playmaker.

Gary Nevilles Verdict - Mohammed is a good signing but not a great one. He has only been signed as a backup so wont get a lot of game time. I feel Roma did need more depth in the defensive midfield position and £3,500,000 is an absolute bargain. I give him a :

7/10

AS Roma have released a press statement which reads the following :

"We are delighted to have snapped up these 3 fantastic players. Raul Albiol is an experienced centre back who will add an elder players wisdom to a realtively young players. Mohammed Diame will be understudy to Daniele De Rossi as we felt we were lacking in this department. Christian Benteke will become our main target man and we are hopeful he can fire us to the top of the table. Peace Out."
A lot of money, but good signings :)
