Some of you may be wondering what's happening...let me explain. I've discovered various problems with this database that has more or less ruin the save. E.g the leagues are not in the right format.. Now the events in my last update gives me time to choose if I continue this or not.

Mixed football now allowed

Shocking the whole world and pleasing many, FIFA have finally allowed mixed football following years of protests from many. Men are now allowed to compete in female leagues and women, if they feel they're ready physically and mentally, are allowed to compete in male leagues. Youngsters in particular will be encouraged to play in either league, whether male of female if they really want to be pro-footballers.

Reports say following Sepp Blatter's words allowing men to compete in and play for female teams, teams such as Arsenal Ladies are planning to take on a number of male youngsters. It seems like the club wants to be one of the first to encourage mixed football. A fairly wise move from the female Gunners.

Earlier today, Sepp Blatter held a press-conference talking about recent issues in football and how FIFA planned to improve them, including goal line technology and he ended the press conference with a bit of a bombshell saying:

"Finally, to talk about a very popular topic, mixed football. For many years there have been protests about mixed football being allowed. Some have said that mixed football will promote equality and decrease inequality. While some have discouraged mixed football claiming it will spoil the game. Therefore we have come to a decision. If men want to play for a female team or in a female league, they are allowed to. Also if women, want to join a male team and play in a male league they're allowed to.

Despite various female leagues only just starting and most are still fairly brand new, they are of great quality and we want to promote equality. Many should not have the wrong idea about female leagues being having less quality than male leagues. You cannot make such a narrow minded judgement. First watch the games and you'll see there is not much of a difference. The only downfall is that there are less female leagues and hopefully with time that will change."

Thee are still many people who will still be against mixed football, feeling that it will spoil the game and harm women as men are more physically sound, but like Sepp Blatter said, its up to the women. If they feel they're physical enough and mentally ready to take part, they are free to. Pictures such as this have surfaced the internet before and even after Sepp Blatter's words:

Not all teams may promote mixed football, some may discourage it and refuse to take on the opposite sex into their team. However, the fact that it is allowed is good enough. It will be interesting to see which teams promote mixed football and why teams shy away.
