What do they smoke at Wembley? :p How can you say he doesn't deserve a statue?!?!

I only joined because of Sir Alex

Remarkably, Robin Van Persie has come out today and stated that the only reason he joined Manchester United from Arsenal was because of Sir Alex Ferguson, if not for him, he wouldn't have left Arsenal. Now that Sir Alex has retired and Moyes has taken over, the Dutchman is reported to be a bit unhappy and disappointed.

Speaking to the Mirror Van Persie once again stated why he left Arsenal, but this time it was a new reason:

"I think I was right to leave Arsenal. In my first season at United we won the league because that's what champions do. Many have accused me of ditching Arsenal for the money and trophies. They have said that if I had waited a bit longer, I could have played with the likes of Giroud, Podolski and Cazorla, I agree with them but here at United I have the likes of Giggs, Cleverley and Rooney.

The real reason I joined Manchester United was because of Sir Alex. To have the chance to play under such a world class manager could not be passed down. He was one of the best coaches in the world and he has made me who I am today.

When I heard he was retiring I felt very bad, no disrespect to David Moyes who is a great manager but the loss of Sir Alex was huge. There have been some articles saying I'm unhappy with United and they have been linking me to a move back to Arsenal now that they've shown some ambition. It is nice to see they have shown some ambition and maybe they will be title contenders once again, but I don't think I will be leaving Manchester United, I want to become a legend and end my career at the theater of dreams."

So for all Arsenal fans who were dreaming of Robin Van Persie joining Arsenal again, according to Van Persie its more or less impossible for that to happen. Some fans have said they would take him back while some have said he can't be forgiven. However if Van Persie was to end up back at Arsenal, it would be a huge shock to the world of football.

Piers Morgan and Lord Sugar bet....AGAIN!

Following bets being placed for the past two seasons, once again, Alan Sugar, commonly known as "Lord Sugar" and Piers Morgan have placed a bet of 30k, the winner donates the money to a charity of their choice. The bets have been based on which team finishes above the other, Arsenal or Tottenham. Piers Morgan has won the annual bet for the past two years.

Many Arsenal fans and some players, tend to dislike Morgan, due to the fact that he is always complaining about the club, the manager, the players and even players that have left (Van Persie). Some Arsenal fans believe that he speaks nothing but the truth, while the majority believe he talks utter rubbish and needs to stop rambling on. However, all respect him for having the guts to place a bet over Arsenal. Despite Arsenal not being consistent during a season, if there are two things Arsenal do best, they are qualifying for the champions league and finishing above Spurs.

Meanwhile, Lord Sugar, the former chairman of Tottenham, is a huge Spurs fan and often the two lock horns over twitter. Each year he believes that his side can finally break the jinx, and finish above Arsenal and once again, he believes this year is the year.

It is nice to see two celebrities betting over the teams they love so much, its even better that the money goes straight to charity and not into their pockets. Who will win this time, Piers or Sugar? Will Tottenham finally break the jinx, or will it be yet another year of disappointment, leaving the Arsenal fans with the bragging rights?
I have been really impressed with the latest updates, keep it up mate :P
Why Piers Morgan? :(

Btw, he would NEVER give money to charity. X-(
Thanks for the comments guys, 3000 views too :D

Piers Morgan has given to charity on numerous occasions btw

London is a great city, Arsenal is a great club!

*the words of Mesut Ozil*

London is a very beautiful city and I've only been here a few months but I'm loving it. The people seem to be friendly and there is a buzz around the city. Mandy and I have bought a house in Hertfordshire, even though she wanted to live in Chelsea but that's too far away.

The fact that there are quite a few Germans at the club has really helped me settle in. The likes of Per, Poldi and even Geidon and Thomas have been helping me settle down. All of them are very good player, Geido and Thomas will be brilliant in the future. I must admit, the player that has impressed me the most so far is Aaron Ramsey.

He always works very hard on the pitch and sometimes when training has finished, he stays behind to train, I respect this as it shows his passion, dedication and love for the game of football and Arsenal. The spirit at the club is very high, everyone gets along with each other well but this didn't happen in Madrid. In Madrid there team was separated into two, some were for Jose and some were against. This really affected us during the season because their was no squad harmony. I remember after one La Liga game and the players were not talking to each other, everyone was ignoring each other which is bad.

I was sad when I realized I was leaving Madrid because I felt I had a future at the club. Also I was leaving my good friend Sergio Ramos behind, who I will miss and I am currently missing a lot, but we still speak on the phone.

Sergio was my best friend and brother, and he still is today. I love Arsenal FC, I am now part of this club and I hope I can take it further, I am now a gunner!

Don't worry Mesut, you won't have to stay in London for long! ;)

Good update Seni. :D
Great update Seni, good luck with some titles ;)
Thanks Arvind and Jeremy :)
Yet another great update Seni. Keep it up.

Hard work will pay off, behind the scenes action

At the training ground, you no longer have a position. You can no longer say I am a striker, or I am a defender, no. You are a player. Currently the coaches and myself, we are trying to teach the players to learn how to play in different positions. For example, a wing back should be able to cover as an attacking winger or even a centre back. Every player at the club should be able to play in more than one position.

There will be times where you may not start in the squad because there is a lot of competition in your position, therefore being able to play in more than one position gives you an extra edge. Every player should be able to attack and defend to a decent extent. We're not asking our strikers to always defend or our defenders to always go up, however, we want a situation where when we attack, we attack as a unit and when we defend, we defend as a unit.

I'm already looking towards the January transfer market. If possible, I would like to bring in more than two players, I don't believe we need more than two. I want a left back and a right back. For now, Carl Jenkinson will act as cover, but I need someone to keep Sagna on his toes. For the left back position, it is not a must as Monreal and Gibbs give each other good competition but maybe a left back to cover would do just fine. We have been monitoring an upcoming English player, Ross Barkley. He has really impressed our scouts with his performances this season and we feel he would be a great addition to the squad, especially in the future.

Are we looking to offload any players? I believe so but I will not mention the players. By doing this, we will have extra funds for transfers and our wage budget will be increased. So often whether you sign a player or not is down to his wage demands. We want to be able to offer both world class players and upcoming players the wages they want, as long as their demands are reasonable. The board is trying its best to help the club with the finances, sadly many people fail to notice this. Everyone thinks that the board are stingy and don't care about the club. That is horribly wrong. You must take into consideration that a new stadium was built, the club is still in debt and need to pay it off, before the club gets into trouble.

Arséne has been helping the coaches and I on the field occasionally, especially when he has some free time. Despite him being retired as a manager and now being a director of football, he still knows what he is doing. The players like seeing him around the training ground, because they're so familiar with him. The two of us have discussed, and we've decided that it would be a good idea if we could get some former Arsenal players on our staff team. Players such as Wright, Dixon, Seaman. For younger players it will be a huge boost of their morale seeing and working with legends everyday.

A lot of work is going on behind the scenes at the club, we are also working extremely hard to create more affiliations with clubs. That way we can send players on loan to clubs and bring in some of their players to Arsenal. Also just like Spurs and Real Madrid, tactics can be shared, coaching methods and many more. Both teams will benefit. The club is improving day by day and I believe we can end the jinx.
