CHAMAKH RETURNS TO SQUARE ONE
Marouane Chamakh’s Arsenal nightmare is finally over after the Moroccan agreed terms with former club Girondins Bordeaux.
Chamakh will join Bordeaux for a fee of £2.5 million after failing to impress at Arsenal and at West Ham United where he scored a measly three goals last season.
The Gunners signed Chamakh for free after he helped Bordeaux to a Ligue 1 title in 2010 and he quickly became a starter.
However, Chamakh failed to get back into the side following Robin Van Persie’s return from injury in 2011 and has seen his playing opportunities limited at the Emirates.
ARSENAL’S CLEAR OUT CONTINUES
Arsenal has proceeded with chopping down the dead wood in their squad with the departures of Nicklas Bendtner and Johan Djourou.
Bendtner whose best spell with the Gunners came in 2010, joins Schalke for a fee of £4 million while Swiss international Johan Djourou makes the move to Olympique Marseille for £4.5 million.
Wonderkid Serge Gnabry has also been loaned out to Nurnberg as Nico Yennaris joins Norwich City until the end of the season.

OZIL BOLSTERS ARSENAL
Mesut Ozil has become Arsenal’s first signing of the summer following a £32 million pound move from Real Madrid.
The German signs a five year deal that will keep him at the Emirates until 2018 as he teams up with compatriots Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski.
Ozil was poised to sign for Arsenal back in 2010 before an exceptional World Cup campaign brought the attention of Real Madrid who paid £15 million for his services.
The 24 year old now makes the move to North London after falling out of favour at the Bernabeu, making just seven appearances all season.
Ozil is a top signing
DENILSON SIGNS FOR FOREST
Newly promoted Nottingham Forest has signed Arsenal’s Denilson following the signing of Mesut Ozil to the Gunners.
Denilson had been out on loan to Sao Paulo before he was deemed surplus to requirements by Thierry Henry.
The Brazilian makes the switch for £2.5 million and becomes the 8th player to leave Arsenal in what is being described as a complete overhaul at the Emirates.
Elsewhere, Yaya Sanogo has been given a loan move back to France where he will represent St. Etienne.
Sanoga joined Arsenal for free last summer but has failed to secure the appreciation of Arsenal fans thus far with 11 games and just one goal.
