BRING ON INTER

Gremio manager Ronaldo has relished their clash versus rivals Internacional this weekend in which he believes his side could come out on top.

Although Internacional are favourites, having won the last two Gaucho State Championships against Gremio, the ‘Imortal Tricolor’ has been in great form recently which Ronaldo believes can swing the result Gremio’s way.

“We know exactly what Internacional has to offer and the game will be massive. Of course having won the last two Gaucho State Championships they will be given as favourites but it can go either way.

“It’s a game of huge magnitude and importance, one we both look at first when the fixtures are out and are desperate to win. When two quality teams come up against each other, I find it hard to say, “Oh they will definitely win”. Football isn’t like that, especially in Brazil.”

Ronaldo was also more than happy to acknowledge Internacional’s talent, praising the amount of quality the rivals have which many Gremio managers have reluctantly done in the past.

“Rivalry aside, Internacional are a team that produce fantastic players and possess individuals of enormous quality. Leandro Damiao is obviously one of them. Who doesn’t want Damiao? He’s a great upcoming forward who can set any game alight. We should applaud Inter for that.

“They also produced the likes of Sandro and Otavio who is breaking through their first team now. Forlan and D’Alessandro are both fantastic, you know, they have got a lot about them and are firmly one of the best teams in the country.

“But as I’ve said before, we know all about what we will come up against and we can’t wait to break some plates. We want all three points.”

Gremio’s Player of the Month

Guilherme Biteco

It wasn’t an easy decision as there were others such as Moreno, Vargas, Souza and Romario who performed admirably but Biteco ate the cake once again. He continues to impress over and over again and is even keeping Ronaldinho on the bench comfortably at 18 years old. I think Scolari will be making a few calls soon.

Review: A fantastic month and a win against the rules. We are in fantastic form and are scoring from all areas of the field. We must keep working though as we have important games coming up. A brilliant commence regardless.
Pretty kind draw in the Copa Libertadores I think Penarol will be your main challengers and you still managed to beat them 4-2. Barcelona (the Ecuadorian ones) aren't too good and Real Garcilaso are in their first ever Libertadores so should be easy :)

Nice layout I am really liking this story :D

No problem nothing better than a Brazilian story and there is not too many around right now :D Yeah I was reading about Garcilaso and they went quite far in their first Libertadores campaign.

And well done on 50 replies over taken my Oriental story by a mile ;)

Gremio’s Player of the Month

Kelvin
The young lad didn’t have much luck at Porto and showed his struggles when he arrived here too but wow how players can change overnight! He started to show signs of progression in training and shortly after found himself into the starting 11, ripping apart defences. 5 games, 5 goals, 5 assists and countless chances created.

Review: A very sour defeat versus rival Inter cannot be ignored and it is even harder to swallow considering we were the better side even with 10 men and only lost on penalties. Nevertheless, we responded fantastically and the 9-2 win against Esportivo shows just how threatening we can be in front of goal. A great month overall.
Great 9-2 win over Esportivo, it is the only good thing about State Championship's when your the big team. And nice win vs Barcelona. At Botafogo I won 9-0, 7-0 every week except v. Vasco, Fluminense and Flamengo. Other than that the State Championships are the only thing stopping me doing careers there as the season takes ages!

Things are going very well mate! You're doing a great job in Brazil... Keep it up! :)
Iwalter66 - Yeah the standard of State Championships is low but on the flip side, most teams park the bus which makes it harder.

gambit84 - Thank You so much!!! :)

Gremio’s Player of the Month

Hernan Barcos

Barcos, or Captain Jack Sparrow as his teammates call him, has been sensational this month and scored everything put in front of him. So good in fact he earned a call up to the Argentinian squad. He is in fantastic form and long may it continue.

Review: Once again a fantastic month by the Imortal Tricolor. Scoring is getting easier and easier and things have become a bit of a formality. However, let’s see how fare in the next couple of weeks as the intensity and quality of opposition rises.
Good luck final .
Nice results .

GREMIO DEPARTURES EXPECTED

Gremio boss Ronaldo has warned fans over potential exits in the coming transfer window as their financial woes deepen.

The ‘Imortal Tricolor’s’ debt has increased substantially in recent months and now Ronaldo may be hand tied if offers are to come in for their prized assets.

“Financially we are in a very compromising position and we have to be careful how we approach things. It’s an alarming situation and we must work as efficiently as possible to solve our problems.

“We are in a stable position to sell as our team’s talent is prevailing and I will always back the academy to step up but we must work strategically, recouping money in ways that we can maintain our competitiveness.”

Gremio stars such as Fernando have been heavily linked with moves away from Arena Gremio as Europe’s elite shortlist the Brazilian international.

The likes of Werley and Saimon have also become the victims of speculation with Anzhi Makachkala and Tottenham Hotspur showing increased interest, something Ronaldo is said to be open to.

“Fernando is arguably one of the best players in Brazil at the moment so any interest is natural. We cannot keep him forever so there will come a time he or any player will have to go at the right price. That’s football.”

EARLY DAYS FOR R9

Internacional manager Dunga believes Ronaldo still has a long time to go before being considered a good manager, just days before the Gaucho State Championship final.

The 1994 World Cup winner and former Brazilian captain was quick defuse any hype surrounding his ex-teammate, suggesting he has many days ahead of him.

“Gremio’s class has been undeniable so far this season and they have really impressed with the number of goals scored.

“Their defence is looking stellar mostly too but the games in which they have been impressive, they were expected to be.

“For that very reason, it’s hard to say whether their results are solely down to Ronaldo’s effect or not but time will tell. He still has a long way to go before establishing himself as a good manager.”

Internacional will meet bitter rivals Gremio in the Gaucho State Championship final this Saturday.
