This story will be the definition of the term "weird but wonderful" :P

NAPOLI ANNOUNCE PLAYER-MANAGER

Napoli have shocked the world today by announcing their new manager, who is also a player, having recently signed under Rafa Benitez, who also have no coaching or managerial experience. Nevertheless, the club seem to have put their faith in newboy Emmanuel Frimpong, who will be lining up on the touchline and the field throughout the upcoming season.

Due to receiving 0 offers for the role, Napoli were stuck on what to do. The exact way in which Frimpong became manager is unknown, but it is believed it is due to his confidence, cockiness, and arrogance that got him the role. He is believed to have stormed into the president's office, wearing his DENCH t-shirt and cap, and suggested, or demanded, that Frimpong is given a chance as manager. The president then went onto ask all other players if they would be interested, and would be happy for Emmanuel to take the lead, and it seems Emmanuel was the only candidate.

Frimpong is only 21, but is expected to use a playing style very similar to Arsenal, due to playing under the wing of Arsene Wenger for many years. Arsenal try to use a simple, passing game, and it is suggested Frimmy will also adopt this style. Napoli were wanting to push for the title and possible European success at the start of this season, but due to the recent issues in the club, Napoli have confirmed they would be more than happy with a finish in the top half of the table.

Emmanuel Frimpong will kick off his career as a manager with four friendlies before digging into the Serie A, playing Roma at Home in a key first game.

Thanks guys, great to see the positive comments rolling in already! :P

SSC NAPOLI: CLUB OVERVIEW

Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli, or Napoli as they are usually known, is a professional Italian football club based in Naples and founded in 1926, and then refounded in 2004. The club is currently playing in the Serie A, where they have in fact spent most their career.

Napoli have so far won the Serie A twice, in both 1986–87 and 1989–90. They have also added the Italian Cup to their collection four times, and the Italian Super Cup. In Europe, they have won the UEFA Cup once in 1988-89. Napoli is also the most successful club in Southern Italy, while also being the fourth most supported football club in Italy.

The club has had several name changes since first appearing in 1926; the main being in 1964, when it was changed from Associazione Calcio Napoli to Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli. The most recent change was in 2004, due to the club becoming bankrupt, but soon refounded by film producer Aurelio De Laurentiis as Napoli Soccer. However, he restored the name to Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli two years later. The bankruptcy of the club in 2004 had seen it placed in the third division of Italian football (Serie C1), but progress of the reformed club was swift and after just three years it returned to Serie A.

Not a big fan of the home kit (that is not the Napoli Azzurri) but absolutely loves the story.

Keep it up.

For some reason the Azzurri wouldn't work, so that was the best I could get.
Not a fan of the collar, still a really good story. However I seem to recall you saying you head a budget of £37 million on the chat.

STAFF CHANGEOVER

Emmanuel Frimpong has decided the changeover of staff will be his first main task as manager of SCC Napoli, and he is certainly making a lot of changes, although he expects they will please the (male) fans a lot. Frimpong decided to terminate the contract of every staff member, including his assistant, and bought in a new, all-female team, to help guide Napoli to victory.

Frimpong now has 12 staff members, and they have been called 12, or 11, of the finest staff members around. Why 11? Well, you'll see.

All staff members are on wages between £500 and £4,500, but manager Emmanuel Frimpong has personally promised some 'bonuses' he will deliver throughout the season. Fans are sure to be pleased with the new staff line-up, and will certainly look forward to seeing them in action.
