Appleton Talks Break Down

Millwall's talks with Michael Appleton have broken down after differences in personal terms between the two parties. The former Portsmouth, Blackpool and Blackburn manager has been unemployed since he was sacked by Rovers after just 62 days in charge.

The 37-year old was the favourite for the job after Jackett resigned but there was reportedly a stumbling block in personal terms in the contract, with wages highlighted as the main factor in the failed approach. It is unknown whether Millwall will try to rescue talks between the two.

Appleton, whose career was cut short by injury in 2003, was interested in the vacant managerial position at The Den but revealed to the press today that the wages were too basic. Millwall will continue the search for a new manager but will have to make an appointment soon.

With only a matter of time until Millwall's pre-season begins, training has been taken by Joe Gallen, who stayed at the club despite Kenny Jackett leaving for Wolverhampton in the off-season. No transfers have been made by the club other than the loan deal of Steve Morison from Leeds.

Gary Neville, who has always been a dark horse in the race for the Lions' hot seat, has now shot to favourite after all other possible successors were ruled out. Chairman John Berylson has called calm on the fans, saying interviews are continuing and they are working all day to find the right man for the job.
Hmm... likeable... not Neville then :D
Damn, everyone's rejecting you, I wonder what Klopas will do? :P
AlexTHFC: Well I know who it is... only two more updates till ALL IS REVEALED! :O

Damn! Ah well. Anyway, if your dad is a lawyer, can he defend me in my trial against the Millwall fanzine, since I err, kinda stole it's name ;)

Millwall Fans Grow Impatient

Millwall fans are starting to grumble as John Berylson confirmed that they are still looking for Kenny Jackett's replacement, with pre-season just a week away. Local fan forums and Millwall ultras have expressed their discontent at the slow process.

Hot favourite Michael Appleton recently held talks but they broke down because of issues in personal terms, more specifically, wages. Only a few names remain on the shortlist now and Berylson will have to move quickly as the clock is ticking.

Many fans were upset at the amount of time that it took and some about how discussions have been operated, with minimum wages being offered, which is seen as the reason why Appleton's approach was failed.

"Really, he has to dig into his pocket, and get someone!" exclaimed a fan at a meeting near The Den. "'E's riskin' the morale of the team leaving it so late. It can be damaging." Other fans also expressed their concerns.

Bostonian Berylson has already called for calm among the fans, saying that because of a thorough research and interview process, but many fans are saying this is a cover up for just a plain lack of options and activity.
I get it! He drafts in a club legend for a while, he does good and Berylson keeps him on! :P
Louis: Unfortunately not a club legend, I didn't want anything cliche :/ But he brings in an experienced manager. I think I may have made all these cliffhangers for nothing too.. seeing as how non-exciting he is :(

Non exciting, could that be, by any chance, err, Klopas? :P
