Hi Welbeck (start of 3rd season)

He is currently my 3rd choice striker and I am pleased on how he is developing.
Injury News – Vidić injured in the second to last game of the pre season and will be out for 5 weeks, which is a big blow. However, there is a chance for either Smalling or Evans to step up.

An average pre-season, with a couple of wins and a couple of draws. I was happy with the games as all my main players got up to match practice
Great story, Godman, I've found it very helpful and interesting reading. One suggestion I have is to show the game date for when matches are played or decisions are made so we can see where you're up to in the season.

Just wondering also, since you posted your original three tactics, have you modified any of the instructions for any of these? (or stuck with the defaults)

Do you change the instructions during a match to suit the circumstances? (eg. if the opposition striker is very quick, play a bit deeper)

Do you tinker with individual player instructions or go with whatever is given for the particular role?

You've done well recruiting and developing the young players. Regarding De Gea and Lindegaard, how do you see them developing? I note that you mentioned De Gea was struggling to keep clean sheets. I wonder if its due to his low ability for rushing out? At any rate, they are both young and should develop into world class keepers in time.

Hi ozdazz, glad you like my story. I will start saying the dates so you can see where abouts in the season I am.

I have kept the same formation but I tend to alter roles (especially the CM ones) depending on players available.

I have also altered my 4-2-3-1 formation due to the Hazard and Götze arriving. Again the base positions and defenders have the same roles and the CM are changing (again depending on players available) but I tend to play the AMR as a winger, the AMC as a attacking midfielder and the AML as a inside forward. I tend not to ticker that much with the player roles however I tend to ticker more with the AMR, AMC and AMl ones.

Thanks with your comment about the younger players.

I see De Gea as having the potential to be a great keeper not only for United but for Spain (in my game he just got his 1st spanish cap but Iker Casillas is still the spanish number 1). I am not sure if I am being a little harsh but last year he really struggled keeping clean sheets in the 1st half of the season and teams always seemed to keep scoring so I brought in Lindegaard and he played very well (I was surprished just how good his shot stoping ability is). However De Gea played very well in the second half of the seaon (making great saves along the way) so he started the Champions League final. However he did concede 4 against Barcelona. I think this season is a big one for him though and he will start the season as my number 1. As for Lindegaard, he has proven to me that he is more than ready to step up and I would go as far as saying that he is the best back-up keeper in Europe.
could you look up leandro's development he brazilian boy from gremio

I will see if I can sort this for you.
Transfer News – Ryan Tunnicliffe has joined Colchester on a season long loan. Colchester FC has said that he will be a key player so hopefully he will play lots of games.
League Game – Bolton H

First game of the season and we start at home against Bolton. I am looking to get off to a good start and reclaim my league title.

4-2-3-1
Line Up - David de Gea, Fábio, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Jordi Alba, Tom Cleverley, Anderson, Eden Hazard, Wayne Rooney, Mario Götze, Javier Hernández
Subs Used – Kyle Walker, Jack Rodwell, Danny Welbeck

A very good performance and a great 3-0 win to kick the season off. Hazard scored the first goal after a beautiful cross from Alba and he slotted home the first goal. Götze then cut in from the left and was brought down in the box and he stepped up and scored from the resulting penalty. In the second half I replaced Hernández as he picked up a little knock and brought on Welbeck and he scored with a powerful effort in the 78 minute.

Overall I was very pleased with the first game of the season. Hernández knock was nothing to worry about so he will be available for my next game. I was also very pleased with how Götze and Hazard performed following on from last season. Rooney played OK (6.9 rating) but it was his first game back after nearly 8 moths out. Cleverley (7.2 rating) and Anderson (6.9 rating) played well and my defence was solid (Fábio 7.0 rating, Smalling 7.3 rating, Jones 7.6 rating, and Alba 8.1 rating). Also De Gea kept a clean sheet so it will do his confidence the world of good.
hey godman love this story and it is very interesting to read ... but i think you should download face , kit and logo packs because in my opinion they make the game way better :)
