Unknown Manager Takes England Hot Seat!

This morning, Fabio Capello resigned as England manager and an unknown manager was presented with his job. Roy Hodgson, Harry Redknapp and Martin O'Neil were the favourites to get the job, but in the end they went with John Smith(not my name).

His first game is a game against Ghana and he will name his squad later today.

John Smith Announces Surprise Squad

John Smith has announced his 23-man squad for this week's match against Ghana:

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Man City), David Stockdale (Fulham), Robert Green (West Ham)

Defenders: John Terry (Chelsea), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Rio Ferdinand (Man United), Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Micah Richards (Man City), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Leighton Baines (Everton)

Midfielders: Frank Lampard (Chelsea), David Beckham (LA Galaxy), Stewart Downing (Liverpool), Ashley Young (Man United), Scott Parker (Tottenham), James Milner (Man City), Aaron Lennon (Tottenham), Gareth Barry (Man City)

Forwards: Wayne Rooney (Man United), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Danny Welbeck (Man United), Darren Bent (Aston Villa)

The only surprises are that he has brought back David Beckham as a replacement for the long-term injury of Steven Gerrard

Phil Jagielka

Line-Up: (4-3-3) Joe Hart, Glen Johnson, Phil Jagielka, John Terry, Ashley Cole, Scott Parker, David Beckham, Frank Lampard, Theo Walcott, Wayne Rooney, Darren Bent

England should have won by even more as they dominated the game and had lots of chances but couldn't finish them.

England Leave It Late For Win

Bulgaria 0-2 England

Jermaine Defoe
John Terry
John Terry

Line Up: (4-2-2-2) Joe Hart, Glen Johnson, Phil Jagielka, John Terry, Leighton Baines, Scott Parker, Frank Lampard, Ashley Young, Stewart Downing, Wayne Rooney Darren Bent

England again dominated but left it until the 65th minute to score to put them 3 points clear in Group G of the Euro 2012 Qualifiers.

England Ease Past Wales

England 2-0 Wales

Craig Bellamy (O.G)
Darren Bent
John Terry

Line Up- (4-2-2-2) Joe Hart, Glen Johnson, Phil Jagielka, John Terry, Leighton Baines, Scott Parker, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, Stewart Downing, Darren Bent, Wayne Rooney

England again dominated the game and didn't leave it as late as the last game. There was some ill-discipline in the first half with 5 England yellow cards but they managed to score 2 goals later on. England are now 6 points clear at the top of Group G but Montenegro in 2nd have a game in hand.
No Sturridge? He was good for me in the world cup 2014, although he had just scored 26 in the prem for Swansea

Micah Richards
Wayne Rooney

Line Up: (4-2-2-2) Joe Hart, Micah Richards, Phil Jagielka, John Terry, Ashley Cole, Scott Parker, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, Stewart Downing, Darren Bent, Wayne Rooney.

England eased past Montenegro to qualify as Group G winners with a storming 5-2 win. Wayne Rooney was in-form with a hat-trick while Darren Bent and an own goal secured their place in Ukraine and Poland. The only downside of the day was Micah Richards' red card which means he'll miss the first group game.

Hat-Trick Hero Rooney Helps England Smash Spain!

England 3-0 Spain

Rooney (3)
Wayne Rooney

Line Up- (4-2-2-2) Joe Hart, Glen Johnson, John Terry, Phil Jagielka, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick, Stewart Downing, Aaron Lennon, Wayne Rooney, Darren Bent.

England surprisingly thrashed the world number 1 team Spain 3-0 at Wembley. In-form Wayne Rooney made it 6 goals in 2 games for England. What made it even more surprising was that Spain put out a full First XI.

This was the team's last game before the warm-up game against Holland.

Smith Reveals Wonder Tactics!

Here are John Smith's wonder tactics:

GK: Goalkeeper (Defend)
RB: Wing Back (Support)
CB: Central Defender (Stopper)
CB: Central Defender (Stopper)
LB: Full Back (Attack)
CM: Ball Winning Midfielder (Defend)
CM: Deep Lying Playmaker (Support)
LAM: Winger (Attack)
RAM: Winger (Attack)
ST: Poacher (Attack)
ST: Target Man (Attack)

England can't hold onto win

England 2-2 Holland

Frank Lampard
Phil Jagielka
Nigel De Jong
Arjen Robben
Ashley Young

Line Up: (4-2-2-2) Joe Hart, Micah Richards, Phil Jagielka, John Terry, Ashley Cole, Scott Parker, Frank Lampard, Ashley Young, Aaron Lennon, Wayne Rooney, Darren Bent

England just couldn't hold on as they let a 2-goal lead slip in their friendly against Holland. As Steven Gerrard came back with a sub appearance, the likes of Robben and van Persie were as strong as England. But England should be pleased with their result against the now top side in the world after and a few month wait since their last qualifier.

Bury offer John Smith managerial role

John Smith has been offered a job at struggling Bury but he has decided that he is fully concentrated on the Euros and will not accept any jobs until after the Euros but probably not even then.

Smith takes charge of UK Olympic Team

John Smith has decided to take charge of the UK Olympic Team as well as England at the Euros. In the Olympic Team you are allowed 2 players over 23 and the rest under 23. This will be a tough challenge managing 2 teams at once but John Smith says he can do it.
I think you're allowed 3 players over 23 lol thats how it was for me anyway :P
