Thanks guys. I am really hoping that he can add a bit of experience to the team as we are going to need that when the season draws to a close. It was great to get him on a free transfer and his wage is so low that means it isn’t going to have an effect on club finances which are so dire. I am really hoping we can push for a playoff position which will be a great achievement as the board of directors only expect us to consolidate and retain our Championship status for next season. A match against Liverpool FC will be a great but I am not sure where my loyalties will lie.

Match Review
I cannot remember the last time, playing Football Manager, that I was so happy to have won a match. In my own, honest opinion, this is a fantastic result for the “lesser” team. It shows that we have such good depth in the squad and we are willing to put up a fight against any opposition that we come up against. The introduction of Danny Simpson and Papa Boupa Diop played a big part in the win as it added that Premier League experience that we needed against Stoke City. I do not for one second thing we will progress past the fourth round but it would be great to get another home tie against Premier League opposition as it will bring in some much needed money into the club.

FA Cup Fourth Round Draw
Match Review
This result shows why the FA Cup is one of the most intense and unpredictable cup tournaments in the world. Going into this game, nobody would have given us a chance, especially as Sunderland had knocked us out of the Capital One Cup in just the second round. However, we absolutely dominated this game from start to finish. Lee Novak put in one of the performances of the season and he deserved his brace as rewards for his efforts. I cannot believe we have come this far in the competition and I am so excited for the next round. We are still yet to come up against a team that I would class as a “big” team from the Premier League so I would love either Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester United, at home, in the next round. On a further note these two teams are the only “big” teams left in the competition with the Championship sides dominating the pot for the fifth round.
January
This month can definitely be described as perfect! Our performances just got better and better as the month went on. The 5-1 hammering of Burnley just showed what the team are capable of in front of goal and this stood us in good stead against Sunderland in the FA Cup. I was happy to see the team get revenge against Crystal Palace as they had beaten us earlier in the season and it was even better to see the goals flying in every game. We are playing with such high confident that has seen us become unbeaten in 8 games in all competitions. I really am hoping that this rich vein of form can continue as we had towards the latter stages of the league season.
