FM 2014 Tools - FM Editor Live 2014
FM Editor Live 2014 is a simple real time editor for Football Manager 2014 that allows you to edit data of your loaded FM14 save-game on the fly. FMEL is the only real-time editor that works with the FMC mode, and the only one that is free to use.

FMEL 2013 was released last February and it was the only free real-time editor for FM13. Its simplicity, speed and flawless functionality made it popular fast; counting over 250,000 downloads to this day. These characteristics remain in this new FM14 compatible version.

FMEL is exclusively available from fmscout.com

Known Issues

If you close FM14 before FMEL14, the app will crash and trigger error popups. To avoid this, please close FMEL14 before closing FM14. Otherwise, you'll have to terminate the FMEL process using Windows Task Manager.

Credits

This tool is an FMScout.com and Moddingway.com association.

The main author of FMEL is Stelios. Unfortunately, he was unable to work on FMEL14. Stelios had to join the army around November to serve his obligatory duty for 12 months.

Thankfully, Thanos (creator of MacAssistant RT) kindly agreed to undertake the task of porting the tool to work with FM14, and he succeeded. He was helping with information and research last year.

Jay was a major help in the last version of FMEL 2013, and kindly helping out this year too.

Many thanks to: Eugene (Information & Research), Panos (super-tester), Ariel (super-tester), Stam (super-tester), Messy (Russian version tester) and Ronald (tester)!

@youlee - have you tried this? On my save that does not work. I can add 200m and the loss/profits still stay the same, the only thing that changes is the balance.
  • Henke25's avatar
When a player has a "false" value, u can't edit him. The problem with fresh regens or players in lower division is the value in contract. -1 is not a acceptable value in FMEL it seems.

    Hello!
Brilliant program. I'm playing in a low league (Liga Adelante B4 - Spanish) and i have a bug when i try to edit any player of any team including my team. In high League (Liga BBVA) i can edit any player of any team (Barcelona, Real Madrid, etc).
  • youlee's avatar
@usert4 - for FFP just edit your balance so say you were to make a loss of 20 million, edit your balance so it has 20 mil more and you will make 0 loss.

also generally i just tried to heal one of my players and changed all of the buggy attributes, does anyone know when a fix will be released?

Also, it would be great to be able to increase the reputation of your reserve teams, as apparently, reputation of those teams is what determines what teams are added to the lowest loaded league after each season, replacing the relegated teams, of course (if you're in a nation that has reserve teams competing in the divisions below the first, such as Spain and Germany).

Has anyone accidentally spent way too much, going way over their FFP "loss allowance"? Stam, do you think it would be possible to one day add a feature to edit clubs' FFP income/loss?

@dazzachambers1975: If the program runs it means you're good with .NET framework. Did you actually hit the "Continue" button in-game after editing and saving something in FMEL? Do that and then see if what you edited is changed.

@Henke25: We want to keep adding new features, but right now our priority is to fix the inconsistencies with attributes editing and whatever bugs come up because of that.
  • linie's avatar
yeah, but stats also change for me if age or contract length is edited.

I seem to be having a very basic problem in that i seem unable to edit anything.

First of all before installing i tried the .NET framework checked and it only showed 3.5 but when i try using the microsoft download it says it is already installed as part of the operating system (windows 8.1)

So i then install the program and it seems to load up my save game ok but when i amend anything (for example increase youth recruitment or money) and then press save nothing seems to happen and then i assume i reload the game but then again nothing has changed.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as it would be nice to sort out what i am doing wrong, for example is that how it is supposed to happen and if thats the case should the save game change to the time when you saved the amendmend through FMEL or is it purely because of the .NET framweork or some other reason such as i need to hop on one leg while pressing spacebar.

Many thanks in advance for anyone that can help

Is there any plans to include ambition, professional, pressure, sportmanship, adaptability in a future version? I'm really satisfied this very handy tool is back on track.

I haven't had the chance to talk with our devs yet, but like Henke25 said it's likely this is not a bug of FMEL. I think it's why FMRTE has that freeze attributes thing. Perhaps we can disable editing of the attributes that specifically drop randomly, not sure what's the best solution yet.

Regarding non EU/US editions of the game, you can help us add support for them. Use this: FM Analyzer for FMEL 2014

Brilliant update. Editing stats work fine. I have only tried editing skills that is not affecting CA. Hidden stats & determination. When changing stats like technique on strikers other stats will go down. That is not a bug caused by the live editor. That is just how the game works.

When will the update which supports 14.3.1 for places other than Europe be released.
  • Abramwade's avatar
    Long Throws
    Marking
    Passing
    Penalty Taking
    Tackling
Technique... its not working fix that please
  • RushNJ's avatar
From playing around with it i noticed that if the player you're trying to edit doesn't have a squad number then you can't edit them. So all my youth players who didn't have squad numbers i couldn't edit, all the ones that had a number i could edit.

I also noticed as was previously mentioned that the marking/passing/longthrows etc stats get a bit weird if a player is edited.

    @Stam

I don't think editing attributes warrants removal, I think based on my previous report it just requires a hotfix/bugfix. I suspect the value of technique is affecting either a mental stat or physical stat or hidden stat, and one of those is affecting one of the mental stats (I keep getting random decrease to leadership and creativity, but when I edit leadership and creativity back it works as intended. I really hope my hidden stats haven't been affected because I haven't been paying attention.)

The bigger picture is that CA/PA editing needs a better explanation of how it works, because the effects are not immediate. From past experience, only increasing PA will decrease your player attributes in the short term but will allow for more future growth via training/development, only increasing CA will increase player attributes short-term but reduce future development, increasing both will increase player attributes and still allow for future development. Attribute changes from CA/PA editing usually takes 2-3 weeks in-game to take effect (though the star rating changes are immediate).

Additionally, CA/PA editing affects attribute editing and vice-versa, though a rule of thumb right now is that if you are going to increase attributes by X, then by also increasing CA/PA by X it seems to mitigate a future redistribution of stats (not perfectly but overall this has been working most of the time). This is because attribute editing actually takes effect immediately, and then probably gets checked by the game engine in 2-3 weeks against the player's CA/PA. If you only added attributes, then the game will basically nerf random stats to bring the sum total to match CA/PA.

I'm managing Colwyn Bay (Tier 6 - Srill North) and i'm unable to edit any players in my squad or any (regen or not).

Also the program seems unable to read players added in the FM Editor. It does not show any information (not even his name) on a players added via FM Editor (Problem on personID 1394631485 with flag f46c: 62572). This particular problem was also present in version 2.0 of FMEL.

I am using Altrincham and the error comes up on each player including established players (some youngsters may be generated, not sure on the under 18s).
Tried with a Premiership side and they all seem to work. Possibly something to do with the lower league sides?
  • Stam's avatar
Unfortunately, editing player attributes is buggy and controversial territory. I might demand its removal from the app, as it appears to be causing more problems than help.

@GunslingerV: Thanks for the very specific report, this will definitely help.
@Andrizovic: I'd avoid editing CA/PA/attributes until next version too.
@phnompenhandy: Don't know, I'll have a word with the dev guys.
    @aleksa_inter: I understand.
    @linie: Thanks, that was clear.

I can't transfer players can somebody help me?
  • linie's avatar
After a while ingame (just loaded the league) i am able to edit players and don't get a -1 value error.
For the CA/PA issue...i think the game accounts for that and matches stats to CA after a month or so ingame, no control over the stat distribution though.
  • Andrizovic's avatar
I'll wait till there's an update because now it's too buggy. You cannot edit without other stats will be fucked up.
  • GunslingerV's avatar
Buffing stats also requires you to add to CA/PA by equivalent amount, otherwise the player's stats will get nerfed in a week or two.
  • GunslingerV's avatar
So I don't think the CA/PA edit actually affected the stat change, rather, because the stat editing is bugged, the live editor thinks you've changed stats ie. since your original marking of 15 seems like a stat change to 15 passing, etc etc.

If you keep opening up editor and keep saving, your player's stats will keep changing lol.

    Looking forward to a hotfix!
  • GunslingerV's avatar
CA/PA and stat editing are broken for the following stats:

    Long Throws
    Marking
    Passing
    Penalty Taking
    Tackling
    Technique
    and 1 more unknown (?)

After I tried to increase the CA of one of my CB's and saw his marking and tackling decrease to 5 from 15...I decided to just make a ton of edits to see if I could figure out what was wrong. These 6 stats are the culprits.

Specifically, editing Long Throws actually affects Marking, editing Marking actually effects Passing, editing Passing actually affects Penalty Taking, editing Tackling affects Technique, editing Technique affects (???), don't know what actually modifies Long Throws.., but Corners through Longshots seem to be working as intended.
