The WTF role is a thing of the past in FM26, but I did what I could to create an alternative. By using the IF role and telling him to hold up the ball, dribble less, and hold position, he acts like a WTF. Put a man Like Thierno Barry in the position, and you have a very effective WTF. A bit of pace is good to have, because players will pass the ball in front of him when playing in a wide position.
The WB and BBM rush forward to assists T.Barry who holds up the ball until support arrives. He's also our only outlet when out of possession.
Barry stays wide and waits for support, in the above picture he manages to hold on to the ball and pass it to an onrushing AM who is through on goal.
The opposite winger and WB have been told to aim for the far post, where we have a towering WTF against their fullback.
Barry scored a lot of far post header.
A good season for Barry in the AML position with 20 goals in the league (4 from pens)
