Looking at a very specific case study here as we analyse the different aspects of Oxford City. Not so much a tutorial this time as it is a summary.

Club Overview

Oxford City's League Positions Has Had A Downward Skew Recently

At first glance, it doesn't make for great reading. Oxford City has been part of the 6th tier of English football (National League regional) since the beginning of the 2012/2013 season. Initially, Oxford City's form was quite up-and-down but the club has dropped down in finishing positions in each of the past three seasons, suggesting a consistent decline with each passing year.

Found in 1882, the club is now 136 years old but remains no more than a semi-professional club. This club status means that there would be no professional players at the football club, with any contract being either semi-professional or amateur. This is the norm for teams at this level, however, with very few clubs having ever had professional football status outside of the Football League. We don't even need to wait until the next tutorial to know that gaining professional status is an objective for this football club.
