

This shape is surprisingly solid defensively combining two full-backs on support duty with centre-backs on defensive duty.
Sitting in front of the backline, you need a strong anchor - think Fabinho when looking for this role.
In attack, the idea of this tactic is to push the ball into the wider areas to the wingers on attack duty and look for the runners (the two Shadow Strikers and CM(at) driving through the middle of the pitch.
I used this tactic in my Bristol City rebuild to great effect going on to have success over five seasons. In the first season, I was able to take Bristol City who are predicted to finish 19th in the SkyBet Championship and finish in 4th - getting promoted via the playoffs.

Following that success, I tested the tactic with Napoli and Manchester City
