This is something of a revisit of an old idea I uploaded a few years ago on a different profile where the World cup happened every year.
Here, every team qualifies for their continental competition and the World Cup, though several have a first round called the qualifying round. Then each tournament runs for 6-12 months. This also causes amusing havoc on the domestic game as the biggest teams lose their best players for extended periods every two years.
The Euros splits all 56 countries into 2 groups. Each team plays each other twice with 16 from each group progressing to 4 8-team groups where each team plays the others once. Top 4 of each go through to a straight single game knockout format until their is a winner.
Copa America is a simple league where the 10 nations play each other 4 times. I played with other options but without going into Advanced Rules, there's nothing to really do here beyond this.
Asian cup, 47-team league, everyone plays each other once. Top Ten go to the 'Final', a 10-team league where they play each other once more.
Gold Cup, 43-team league, everyone plays each other once. Top 5 go to the 'Final', 5- team league where they play each other twice.
Oceania, 15 team league, everyone plays each other 3 times.
AFCON, Knockout round leading to 2 16 team groups. Everyone plays each team in their group twice. Top 8 from each group enter a knockout bracket of double legged games, except the final which is single leg.
Fifa World Cup, a whopping 19 12-team groups. Each team plays each other once. Top 6 progress to what I call the League Phase, where 6 19-team groups play each other twice. Again the top 6 progress, this time to 4 9-team groups, where everyone plays each other twice again. Winner of each group goes to a two legged semi, followed by a regular final.
Ideally, I would like to combine Copa America, Gold Cup and the Oceania tournaments into a single tournament but my attempts have either not worked, or have caused the game to crash so that's unlikely to happen.
I hope you enjoy.
