Palermo vs Napoli
If you fancy an early year break to see some excellent prospects plying their trade in Serie A, football tickets are still available to buy online at TicketBis.
Napoli's heroics in the Champions League have alerted Europe's biggest teams to some of their most talented players, with a number of them now on the verge of world superstardom. With Palermo the feeding ground for unknown talent from all over the globe, the majority of the players on show on Sunday 8th January could be in line for a transfer if the right offer comes in.
Napoli's attacking trident of Marek Hamsik, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani are the main reason that Walter Mazzarri's men have achieved success domestically and on the continent, and the bulk of Spain, Italy and England's top clubs have an interest in the trio. All three have been linked to Manchester City, whilst big-spending Paris Saint Germain have also been mentioned in football news to be readying a huge bid for Cavani.
Despite selling star player Javier Pastore in the summer, Palermo still have a few gems in the rough that have the quality to make a step up. Slovenian midfield duo Josip Ilicic and Armin Bacinovic are being monitored by Inter, AC Milan and Juventus, with Chelsea also supposed suitors of the prior, whilst Tottenham had an offer for forward Abel Hernandez rejected in the summer.
Villarreal vs Valencia
Last season's third and fourth placed La Liga teams go head-to-head on Sunday 8th January, with both teams having players of the necessary quality to make an impact in England.
Villarreal have had a torrid 2011-12 campaign so far, with injuries to key players resulting in poor performances from the El Madrigal outfit. Due to expectations not being met this season, a number of the side's main players may consider a move, which could be of the benefit to the Premier League. Borja Valero is the pick of Villarreal's squad, and it seems only a matter of time before the Spain international decides to move on.
Valencia remain La Liga's best side after the Clasico pair, and Unai Emery's team harbour some real talents. Roberto Soldado is one of the form strikers in Europe, and following Juan Mata's departure to Chelsea in the summer has carried the team's goalscoring responsibilities single-handedly this term. In midfield Ever Banega is a long term target of Inter, but both Newcastle and Liverpool are reportedly on the Argentina international's trail also.
