There have been waves of fresh tactical developments this season. Arteta has strived to be proactive in his approach and sought answers to issues, but he has also made blunders in his preparation.
The biggest tactical change this season has been developing over the last few months. The formation has always been incorrect when it is set up as a 4-2-3-1. Arsenal has gradually moved away from the double pivot, with a 4-4-2 out of possession and a 4-3-3 in possession being much more accurate representations of the positions of the players.
But, in modern football, roles are more crucial than places. They more accurately define players. The roles of the squad members are currently being changed by Arteta, and nowhere is this more apparent than with Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.
If you have a moment, please do check out the below video as I go a lot more into detail about how we made this tactic. I also cover multiple tweaks you could make if you need a goal/need to shut up shop. It is highly appreciated and supports me massively.
