This database provides a fictional alternative to this for AFC and OFC, with a 4 and 2 tier Nations League setup for each case respectively.
Things are discussed in more detail below, please note the following disclaimers:
- The setup in each case has been devised based on the 24-25 UEFA & CONCACAF nations league setups, and based on the number of teams in each confederation. Also taken into consideration is the relative reputation of teams, which determines how many tiers there should be for a given confederation and how many teams should be promoted and relegated between levels.
- The number of nations and their statistics have not been altered. Neither have any player statistics. OFC Associate nations are included in its nations league.
- There is no setup for a CAF nations league in this database owing to the packed calendar their countries have, accounting for the biannual Cup of Nations and its qualifiers, and the World Cup qualifiers. Similarly, there is no setup for COMNEBOL as they have just 10 nations, and already play a single group World Cup qualifying stage which becomes analogous to a Nations League.
- Though both CONCACAF and UEFA use their nations league for seeding and/or qualifying for their continental competitions, this is not considered for this database as the AFC nations cup has a vigorous qualification campaign and reducing slots for Round 3 (where 6 teams qualify from 24) is not considered advisable, and the OFC nations cup includes all of it's 11 members in the tournament anyway.
- Though fictional awards (based on CONCACAF nations league) and records are listed, new awards and records may not be recorded in some tournaments due to a common bug in FM with created tournaments
The following competitions are included in this database:
- AFC Nations League: 47 nations split into 4 divisions (Leagues A to D) of 6, 16, 10, and 15 teams respectively, with fixtures played home and away. The AFC Nations league is held every 4 years (starting from 2026) instead of 2 due to the fixture congestion for AFC nations, who also play regional confederation competitions in differing windows. The tournament format is as follows (please refer to the format image as well):
- Division A: 6 teams play home and away in a single league. The top three teams qualify for the Nations League finals. The last placed team is relegated to League B. - September 2026 to September 2027.
- Finals: The second placed team in League A hosts the third placed team in a single leg semifinal, and the winner is hosted by the league leader in the final. - October 2027
- Division B: 16 teams are divided into 4 groups of 4 teams, seeded in pots based on world rankings. The top team from each group moves to the next stage, where the four teams play a two legged semifinal and final, with the winner promoted to League A. The last placed team in each group is relegated to League C. - September 2026 to October 2027
- League C: 10 teams are divided into 2 groups of 5 teams, seeded in pots based on world rankings. The group winners and runner ups are promoted to League B. The last placed team is relegated to League D. The second to last teams enter a two legged relegation playoff, with the loser relegated to League D. League C has more fixtures to help balance out the lack of international matches for lower ranked AFC teams. - September 2026 to October 2027
- League D: 15 teams are divided into 3 groups of 5 teams, seeded in pots based on world rankings. The group winners are promoted to League C. League D has more fixtures to help balance out the lack of international matches for lower ranked AFC teams. - September 2026 to October 2027
- OFC Nations League: 13 nations (including associate nations Tuvalu & Kiribati) split into 2 divisions of 8 and 4 teams respectively (with the highest ranked OFC team directly qualifying to the Finals due to reputation disparity), with fixtures played home and away. The OFC Nations league is held every 4 years (starting from 2026). The tournament format is as follows (please refer to the format image as well):
- Division A: 8 teams are divided into 2 groups of 4 teams, seeded in pots based on world rankings. The top team from each group qualifies for the League A final. The final is held over two legs, with the winner becoming champions of League A and qualifying for the Nations League finals. The two second placed teams compete in a third-place playoff, with the winner qualifying for Nations League Finals. The last placed teams play a two legged relegation playoff, with the loser moving onto the interdivision playoffs. - September 2026 to March 2027.
- Finals: The third place winner from League A plays the highest ranked OFC team in a two legged semifinal, and the winner plays the League A winner in a two legged final. - March 2027 to September 2027
- Division B: 4 teams play home and away twice each in a single league to give the lesser teams more games to play. The top team qualifies for the interdivision playoffs. - June 2026 to June 2027.
- Promotion/Relegation Playoff: The League A relegation playoff loser and the League B winner play a two legged playoff match, with the former being seeded and playing the second leg. The winner gets to play in League A and the loser in League B in the next edition. Due to the disparity in rankings, there is no automatic promotion/relegation - September 2027
