FM18 Tactic: 4-4-2 Asymmetric Attacking Football

4-4-2 is the best tactic with a good balance between Defending and Attacking. However, sometimes 4-4-2 is not the best tactic for attacking football or possession football, except Man Utd under SAF or Barcelona under Ernesto Valverde.

In Football Manager, we can make anything with tactics, using our imagination, to win trophies with our club.

This is my tactic for Manchester United. I'm now into the second season in that save. In my first year, I won UCL and FA cup (Man City won the EPL).

The tactic is inspired from one of the best managers in the world, Marcelo Bielsa.

It's all about finding space to score a goal, controlling the ball and making sure that possession is effective.

The formation:



The concern is IW sit narrower to get space in third half of the opposition, and create space too for wing back.



In the second season, we're unbeaten in 22 games in EPL (no save load) and I think this is the best tactic I have ever made in FM 2018.
