August Update

We've had a good start to the Premier League, let's hope we keep it up:

Transfers

IN

We proved lots of people wrong out there with these results, a start which we should savour for a long time:

Liverpool 2-0 Rochdale AFC (A)

Barclays Premier League

Milan Badelj (39')
Fábio Coentrão (71')

Fábio Coentrão (Liverpool) -- 8.2

Match Review
We throughly expected and deserved this opening defeat at Anfield as we played very poorly and provided no competition for them and they gave us a taste of what the BPL is really like. Although we played very weakly, it was an unfortunate defeat and we provided no upsets.

Rochdale AFC 1-1 Swansea (H)

Barclays Premier League

Rickie Lambert (33')
Justin Schmidt (90+2')

Justin Schmidt (Rochdale AFC) -- 7.8

Match Review
We were being dominated at first but we did really well to grab a much needed point to get us out of the relegation zone, and it was a point we fully deserved despite going down due to a goal by a former Rochdale player, Rickie Lambert.

Rochdale AFC 1-0 Millwall (H)

Capital One Cup 2nd Round

Scott Hogan (17')

Reece Brown (Rochdale) -- 8.3

Match Review
In my opinion, we could have played better, but I played a squad that lacked experience and were very young, so a 1-0 victory is acceptable... onwards to the next round!

West Brom 0-1 Rochdale AFC (A)

Barclays Premier League

Will Keane (32')

Rhys Bennett (Rochdale AFC) -- 8.3

Match Review
Our first victory in the Premier League ensured we climbed out of the relegation zone once again and this time let's hope we stay out of it. Will Keane finally ended his long league goal drought which stretched back to his time at loanee club Swindon last season.

Player of the Month

The PoTM award goes to Rhys Bennett, our captain, who totally deserves it as he was a solid rock in defence, and helped us defeat West Brom 1-0.

Here are the fixtures for next month:

Author's Notes

We had a good month in the English top-flight, lets hope we can produce more of the same!

Just finished reading your story from start to now. Most excellent!!!I had to chuckle when I saw that Beckham had signed on as a coach for a paltry 425.00 per week. Look forward to the next installment! Peace out.

September Update

This is exactly what I need for this season, I know the Premier League season is still young and we've got a long way to go, but the league position is good in my opinion:

We are doing brilliantly in the league, our run was superb for a newly-promoted team:

Rochdale AFC 2-1 Derby (H)

Barclays Premier League

Junior Stanislas (34')
Will Keane (46')
Damir Zlomislic (80')

Junior Stanislas (Derby) -- 8.6

Match Review
We got dominated in the first half, but after two red cards we capitalised on their losses and we punished them with a dreaded comeback, a good effort too gain three points at home.

Ipswich 1-1 Rochdale AFC (A)

Barclays Premier League

Adil Nabi (9')
Luke Chambers (o.g. 49')

Romain Amalfitano (Ipswich) -- 8.2

Match Review
This was a game we should have won easily, but we couldn't even score a goal against our old Sky Bet Championship rivals who won the Championship last season. I hope we get a win next time at home.

Hull 1-2e Rochdale AFC (A)

Capital One Cup 3rd Round

Marnick Vermijl (61')
Jordan Obita (90+3')
Will Keane (105')

Reece Brown (Rochdale) -- 8.6

Match Review
In my opinion, this has been the most dramatic game we've ever played. We played very poorly in the second half and conceded a goal against a Championship team... but Jordan Obita (a supersub) fired in a volley very late in the game to equalise, and then Will Keane scored the winner just before the second half of extra time to push us through to the next round.

Rochdale AFC 3-3 Stoke City (H)

Barclays Premier League

Steven Fletcher (22')
Will Keane (42', 57')
Toni Gorupec (63')
Gary Gardner (72')
Jordan Mutch (76')

Will Keane (Rochdale AFC) -- 8.8

Match Review
This was the most frustrating game I have ever managed. We were 3-1 up until the 72nd minute when they came back to take two points away from us... this was very unfair.

Player of the Month

The PoTM award goes to Will Keane who has been in sensational form so far, scoring 4 goals in 4 games and notching up a rating of 7.30 in five games so far. He is a beast.

Here are the fixtures for next month:

Author's Notes

Our run in the BPL this month was unbeaten and we looked shaky against Hull City... however, we can still push up further than I thought we could do this season and right now I wouldn't be surprised if we finished in the top-half.
