@BayernAmerica: Cheers man :)

Rochdale in talks with Fàbregas...

Justin Credible has until recently, denied any ongoing transfer speculation. However, in a press conference held last night after the cup match against Stoke City, Credible confirmed that Rochdale are currently in talks with former Arsenal captain and Barcelona man Cesc Fàbregas. 29 year-old Fàbregas is currently a free-agent after a row with Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino led to his release earlier this year. This is widely regarded as a regrettable mistake on Martino's part but admitting that now is too little, too late. Fàbregas has recently been attracting Dutch side PSV, but it is unknown whether or not they will go through with an offer. Rochdale manager Justin Credible has admitted he fears that his target will join in-form PSV if they table an offer for him, but also says that the Spaniard craves a return to English football, and at the age of 29 he still has years to offer.
That is insane! Fabregas would be class if he joined! :P good luck in getting your man
Hopefully you get him!

December - January Update

We've gone a bit complacent since the start of December, but we're still the best in the league:

Transfers

IN

OUT

I released Andy Kirk and Durrell because they were taking up too many wages, Dickson Etuhu requested a transfer for unknown reasons ( :/ ) so he was sold to Sheffield United for a small fee of £35k, but due to a sell-on fee percentage clause, Rochdale only received £20k. Robbie Thomson wouldn't renew his contract with the club (which ran out in June 2016) so we had to cash in on him before his value dropped and we received £575k from Burnley for him. It was sad to sell him for such a small fee for his quality, but the value would have dropped had I waited any longer. Heskey was also placed on the transfer-list after he failed to produce some of the form the prompted West Ham to sign him a year ago from Newcastle Jets, and he will now ply his trade at Chinese club Jiangsu for a small fee of £17.75k.

Superb stuff right there, but how have we been doing against other teams since December?

We kicked off the last month of 2013 well with 1-0 victories over Crawley, Bradford and Oldham, but we then lost 1-0 to Walsall and dropped two points against Scunthorpe where we conceded a late equaliser. We then went on a 5-match winning spree, including a match against Bristol which finished 6-5. We then lost 2-1 to Bournemouth, and also 1-0 to MK Dons, further narrowing our top spot lead down...

We play Chesterfield THRICE in the next month, twice in the JPT North Final and once in League 1. Other than that these fixtures seem easy and we will try to get maximum points for our impressive run in League One.

Bring it, bitches.

See you cant beat the mighty Walsall at home :D we are hard to beat at home :P UTS!!(Upthesaddlers)
@k1rups: Thanks man! I hope he joins! :P

@BayernAmerica: Thanks Mike :)

@Walsall_Craig: Hahaha don't worry, next season I will deliberately ask them for a friendly ;) Up The Dale!

December Update

December was awesome for us, it was one of the best we've had this season:

Transfers

IN

Our recent run of results was very good, we provided many upsets and that's exactly what I'm expecting from now on:

Rochdale AFC 2-0 Wigan (H)

Barclays Premier League

Rhys Bennett (8')
Justin Schmidt (pen 90+6')

Rhys Bennett (Rochdale) -- 8.7

Match Review
An early lead definitely helps, and that's exactly what we needed to gain control over Wigan and topped it off with a Schmidt penalty at the end.

Rochdale AFC 1-0 Southampton (H)

Barclays Premier League

Jeremie Boga (71')

Jeremie Boga (Rochdale AFC) -- 7.4

Match Review
Southampton were on a bad run after three draws and a loss, and we gave them another loss through a goal by loaned star Jeremie Boga.

Stoke City 1-0 Rochdale AFC (A)

Capital One Cup Quarter Final

Andi Weimann (53')

Rhys Bennett (Rochdale) -- 7.5

Match Review
Although a tight match, we conceded a goal and that was the blow that we needed to get out of this competition. However, quarter finals are a good place to finish, especially for a team that only recently got promoted so I wasn't too bothered to lose 1-0... hopefully next season we will win it.

Rochdale AFC 3-2 Fulham (H)

Barclays Premier League

Will Keane (23')
Lasse Vigen (32', 83')
Nicholas Ioannou (43')
Damir Zlomislic (51')

Lasse Vigen (Fulham) -- 9.1

Match Review
This encounter was one where we were comfortable favourites since we were on a beautiful run in the league, and that only extended to three victories in a row with an awesome win here at home.

Sunderland 0-1 Rochdale AFC (A)

Barclays Premier League

Jermaine Grandison (68')

Jermaine Grandison (Rochdale) -- 7.7

Match Review
We played a bit shakily and almost let in a few goals had it not been for the woodwork, but we finally got the breakthrough via a header by Jermaine Grandison in the 68th minute, and that's how the game ended as they could not score at all.

Arsenal 3-0 Rochdale AFC (A)

Barclays Premier League

Ross Barkley (13')
Olivier Giroud (29')
James Ward-Prowse (55')

Medo (Rochdale) -- 8.6

Match Review
We were expected to lose against the mighty Gunners, but I personally didn't expect a thrashing. However, it's fair to say we were brought back down to earth with this loss and we've been playing better since then.

Rochdale AFC 0-0 Manchester City (H)

Barclays Premier League

Lucas Leiva (Manchester City) -- 8.1

Match Review
We yet again provided another upset in the league and held out Man City to a goaless draw which in my opinion is a win for us and a loss for them. They attacked and attacked and attacked some more, but we kept on defending and it paid off. Absolutely superb effort at home.

Player of the Month

The PoTM award goes to Nicholas Ioannou. The young centre-back is on loan from Manchester United and has dazzled the Premier League with his performances. I hope to secure his signature soon, making the transfer permanent.

Here are the fixtures for next month:

Author's Notes

We are currently 8th in the Premier League table which is more than awesome for a first season. But, to be fair to other teams, we're flying high because of their mistakes and not entirely because we try hard. Let's start the new year with a good result against Liverpool to keep us this high up in the league and once that happens, I don't see why we can't finish higher since we have come so far.
Some great results and nice signings :)
You are doing very well in the league, keep it going and you could get into Europe :D
Going really strong in the league mate, keep up the good work :D

January Update

Justin Credible... Just Incredible? That's right :P we are doing unbelievably this season, this month has been absolutely epic! Although the teams around us have a few games in hand, it's still an awesome feeling to be 3rd in the league:

Transfers

OUT

A number of prominent individuals left Rochdale this season, and it was the perfect time for Adam Barton and Plaisir Bahamboula to leave the club to save their careers as they were surplus to requirements. Although it was very sad to see them leave, especially Bahamboula who has been a key player in our rise to the top division, they have joined teams that need them the most and I hope they enjoy better careers at their new clubs. Having said that, we did make a sizeable profit on Adam Barton's sale, and possibly in the future, both Barton and Bahamboula could be offered jobs to work here as coaches if they're good enough. Ignacio, who is a young gem in our youth ranks was sent on loan to Osasuna but was recalled after a number of days as he was unhappy in the Liga Adelante, and has now been loaned to Liga BBVA side Getafe until the end of the season. Mamadou Niang's contract was terminated as his wages took a hike to match Cesc Fabregas' high wages, and that was something I wasn't going to risk so he had to leave. He is now a free-agent. Jermaine Grandison and Esteban Lopez were sent on short term loans to regain match fitness as they had been out due to injuries.

The run we've had in January was just awesome, in fact I have ran out of words for it to be honest. Never again will anyone see a run like this by a team that's enjoying their first season in this league:

Rochdale AFC 0-0 Liverpool (H)

Barclays Premier League

Hugo Mallo (Liverpool) -- 8.0

Match Review
I'm really happy with this result as it was only two days after the Manchester City match and we had to field a weak team. I still cannot believe how Liverpool didn't manage to score a single goal in this match.

Rochdale AFC 3-2 Brentford (H)

FA Cup 3rd Round

Adam Armstrong (5')
Justin Schmidt (11')
Adam Reach (28')
Scott Hogan (53')
Jordan Obita (64')

Adam Armstrong (Brentford) -- 8.3

Match Review
This competition is not too important for me as I want to fully focus on the league and possibly gain access to Europe, but I was not happy to go down 2-1 in the 28th minute. So, at half-time I put Scott Hogan on and the magical comeback began.

Swansea 0-2 Rochdale AFC (A)

Barclays Premier League

Ashley Richards (o.g. 40')
Tom Huddlestone (o.g. 45+2')

Rhys Bennett (Rochdale) -- 7.9

Match Review
This match is easily one of the funniest, but also the luckiest I have played this season. Would you believe it? TWO own goals by Swansea secured us the three points!

Rochdale AFC 4-0 West Brom (H)

Barclays Premier League

Jeremie Boga (pen 21', 38)
Cesc Fabregas (39')
Mehdi Yildrim (56')

Mehdi Yildrim (Rochdale) -- 8.1

Match Review
Goals GALORE! We are finally a force to be considered in the Premier League and this victory shows that we mean total business. I mean, if you face the squad which has Fabregas and Schmidt in the lineup, with in form Boga providing the sparks up front, why would you not fear them? Even better, this was Yildrim's debut and he scored and picked up an assist already. Also, this was Fabregas' return to English football and he also scored his first Premier League goal since leaving Arsenal for Barcelona.

Portsmouth 0-3 Rochdale AFC (A)

FA Cup 4th Round

Will Keane (15, pen 53')
Riccardo Improta (30')

Reece Brown (Rochdale) -- 8.6

Match Review
A good solid victory sent us through to the next round, bring it on!

Derby 1-2 Rochdale AFC (A)

Barclays Premier League

Scott Hogan (8')
Johnny Russell (36')
Medo (56')

Scott Hogan (Rochdale) -- 8.5

Match Review
We scraped a 2-1 victory over Derby, and continued our awesome run well into the new year.

Rochdale AFC 1-0 Ipswich (H)

Barclays Premier League

Jeremie Boga (85')

Jeremie Boga (Rochdale) -- 8.0

Match Review
Yet again we were too good for the opponent, even though I fielded a moderate side, home advantage ensured that super-sub Boga came on and scored a late winner to clinch the three points from last season's Championship winners.

Stoke City 1-2 Rochdale AFC (A)

Barclays Premier League

Ryan Shotton (68')
Will Keane (75')
Reece Brown (83')

Reece Brown (Rochdale) -- 8.4

Match Review
This match is a perfect example of how complacency can snatch three points away from you. Stoke became complacent after scoring a late goal, and we scored two goals to counter their lead and take the points for ourselves.

Player of the Month

The PoTM award goes to Jeremie Boga. The young midfielder is totally one that I want to sign on a permanent deal from Chelsea after a series of mindblowing performances this month.

Here are the fixtures for next month:

Author's Notes

We were 8th last month. Now we are 3rd. This is impossible.
