Brilliant update Aaron, great writing. Did the U.S. make the cut? Also, great result against Brazil, hopefully your good form can cary over to the Euros! :)
Ur, I'm actually not sure if they even qualified, they probably did as i can't remember two of the groups! If they are in it, they'll be in a future update:)) The qualifiers have been drawn as well which will be revealed after the World Cup:P

World cup finals - The group stage

The next four groups will not be covered as detailed as the last four because one it is time consuming, and two im not in the world cup so there isn't much point in covering down to every detail.

Anyway, Group E consisted of the teams Holland, Uruguay, South Korea and Bosnia. Uruguay and Holland obviously the favorites, however with the amount of surprise results in this years world cup, Bosnia and maybe even korea had every chance to pull off something special.

However, the favirotes were too strong for both Korea and Bosnia, Bosnia losing all three of their games. Korea surprised a few, by beating Bosnia and getting a point against Uruguay, Uruguay's loss to Holland would mean that the South Americans go through level on points with Korea but with a better goal difference. Holland topped their group, winning every game.

Group E, held the two teams that failed to advance to the knockouts in 2010, Italy and France would face up against Ecuador and Iran, surely they'd both go through?

They did indeed, with the pair both finishing in a qualification spot, Italy came second getting a win against Iran, but couldn't take first spot with draws against both France and Ecuador, the only difference in France's situation was that they beat Ecuador as well as Iran meaning they would top the group.

Group G was probably the hardest group with Spain, Mexico, Paraguay and Sweden all battling it out, Spain and Sweden were probably the favirotes, but Sweden couldn't stop themselves from finishing last in the group, Paraguay took third spot, which meant Mexico and Spain would take second and first spots, Spain topping the group after their win over Mexico.

The last group saw Ukraine and Colombia advance to the knockouts, Colombia finishing on 4 points and Ukraine on 6. The Madridsta did as me how the USA got on, unfortunatley they finished last in this group...Dont worry! It's not all bad as they did manage to get 3 points with a win against Colombia

Hope you enjoyed the last update on the groups, the knockouts will all be in 1 quick update, just so the story doesn't go off track.

World Cup Finals - The round of 16!

So there were some big shocks in the group stages, such as germany not getting through what seemed an easy group and Brazil not advancing to the knockouts on home soil, but it was time for the round of 16...

Russia 1-0 Belgium

England 4-0 Costa Rica

Greece 2-1 Switzerland

Argentina 1-0 Cameroon

Italy 1-1 Holland (Holland through on penalties)

France 1-0 Uruguay

Spain 3-0 Colombia

Mexico 0-0 Ukraine (Mexico through on penalties)

Russia, England, Greece, Argentina, Holland, France, Spain and Mexico all advanced to the quarter finals, which teams would make the semi's?

The Quarter Finals

Russia 0-3 Argentina

England 3-0 Greece

Holland 1-1 Mexico (Mexico Through on penalties)

France 1-3 Spain

So that was that for the quarter finals, most people expected Holland to do well this time around however the luck of the penalty shootout threw them out of the World cup.
Russia, surprised many getting to the quarter final, when many people didn't expect them to get passed the first round.

The Semi Finals

Argentina, England, Spain, and Mexico were all in the semi's and many expected an England, Spain final after seeing the draw, that's not what they got.

Argentina 1-0 Spain

England 3-1 Mexico

Third place playoff

So, Argentina sent Spain packing, and England did the same to Mexico...all that was to play for now, was third place.

Mexico 1-0 Spain

The Final

This was Englands chance to bring home the world cup, since 1966. Could they do it? Or would they collapse under pressure and bow down to the likes of Messi and Aguero?

Argentina 0-3 England

Yes, you read that right England have won the world cup for the second time in 48 years, and in fasionable style, beating Argentina three goals to none! Maybe one day, Poland will be able to do the same.
Where did your team finish...?
Aaron Hardy must be a very enthusiastic person, as we can see from all the exclamation marks at the end of every sentence in his press conferences :P

Great story so far, and it seems you have yet to drop a single game. Well done!

Pre-match press conferance.

Evening, Aaron, Are you well?

Very well. thank you.

Ok, good to hear. If we start off by talking about your group...Do you think the draw has been kind on you?

I would say it has been fairly kind, there are some much harder teams we could have faced but I think this is a group we are fully capable of qualifying from.

going back on what you just said about there being much harder teams...Wouldn't you say having the world champions, England, is the hardest test of them all?

Well, I wouldn't say the hardest as you can never really have a 100% idea on who is the hardest team to play, but yes, the fact that they are the world champions will probably have an affect on the game, they will bring good momentum with them to the game.

ok, and also, your Poland side have moved from 75th spot in the world rankings to an incredible 25th spot in just under a year...thats a hug leap? isn't it?

Yes, it is, and our success has all been down to the lads that work hard on and off the pitch, I am very proud of them, it shows how good we are and can be.

Ok, and moving on to your first match back, against Luxemborg...do you see them as a threat?

Oh, yes. Any team is a threat, even San Marino. If you are in the game, you always have a chance to win, so therefore in my opinion any team is a threat, and will try and stand in your way.

Going back, to the world cup, had you qualified, how far do you think you could have gone?

Well, you can never really answer those types of questions as anything can happen in any game, you saw that with Germany and Brazil a number of times, however had we qualified, I think we woud have done well, But then again, that may just me being bias, who knows?

Ok, well, thats all we haver time for today Aaron, cheers for your co-operation.

No problem, Goodbye.
Thanks Jork, happy i got your first post
:P
Very well written Aaron I must say, the sheer detail and effort put into this is unbelievable xD

I hope you can win the World Cup next time! :P
Cheers NVD! I wanted to put a lot more into the World Cup, but I wasn't in it so didn't see the point:/ I'm not sure I will win it next time, but who knows:P
Great couple of updates you've got there! Keep it up mate :)
Cheers seni:D
Good luck is the next tournament EURO 2016??
