Numancia's Commitment to Youth Continues

Mauro Signorini has been signed from Instituto (Argentina) for 540K in compensation. He will make a great advanced playmaker, and we need one to fill the role since Eddy likely won't make it back the same as he was before.

Philip Jacobsson, who will hopefully be our right back of the future, has been signed from Kalmar FF for 550K in compensation.
Unai Emery on Numancia's Foreign Bias
Real Sociedad's manager, Unai Emery, was asked about Numancia's reliance on foreign players. Here's what he had to say:
August Matches
Real Sociedad 1 - 2 Numancia
Budding American superstar Adrian Rybaczuk has scored his first La Liga goal in his first match, but he was merely along for the ride, a beneficiary of this great piece of creativity by Sergi Enrich:
Transfer Deadline Day
Once again, it's all the players I didn't sign, and all the money I didn't spend, the top deals:
In addition, Real Madrid made a nice piece of business this window:
September Matches
Numancia 2 - 1 Valladolid
Here is Rybaczuk's second goal, much more skillful than the first:
Evtimov Tears Ankle Ligaments
Numancia suffered a terrible blow as Dimitar Evtimov, who had been lights out in goal for Numancia, will be out 5-6 weeks with torn ankle ligaments.
Getafe 0 - 3 Numancia
Here is the luckiest goal of the year, a Yohan Croizet shot that hit woodwork, bounced off Getafe's goalkeeper, and into the net for a Numancia goal. It loosened us up and led to a big result!
Valencia 0 - 0 Numancia
Numancia 1 - 0 Espanyol
The Table
Manager's Comments
Wait, 2nd in La Liga? This is much better than I could have expected, and unbeaten, to boot! There are some mysteries going on. How did a defense that gave away 58 Liga Adelante goals last season only give away 2 goals in 5 La Liga matches this season? With two own goals to their benefit, and several missed against them, have Numancia benefitted from a great deal of luck? (Yes.) Things are rosy now, but with Real Madrid coming to Nuevo Los Parajitos next, will things start to turn south? Just what kind of wizardry is being performed here on a 100,000 Euro a week budget?
