Keegans Notes

I finally recovered from the World Cup and spirits were high, but I had something to do and that was to remove James as Vice Captain because he is no longer a first choice now. Ross is going to take over as vice captain.

Barkley now Vice Captain

I had been to watch some games but I will admit i delegated it so I could just recover from the World Cup and did numerous television interviews! I also spoke about my desire to manage another club at some point in my career but not for a while yet and would have to be a club that meant a lot to me.

I decided to name my squad for the World Cup Qualifiers against the Ukraine and Rep. Of Ireland. Luke James and Sam Byron both made the squad. Luke has carried on last season's form into the 2020/2021 season for Cardiff and I can not wait to see what he can do. Sam also is called up. He now plays for Newcastle, is in awesome form and I will be starting him against Ukraine as we now have a proper right back who is in form!
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/543/d8n2.jpg/
Expect to see Byram feature heavily in these next two years

Fraser is also out injured so I have decided to call in Alex McCarthy. McCarthy from Swansea has been excellent but unfortunately for him Joe and Jason are just amazing.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/827/6m76.jpg/
McCarthy replaces the injured Fraser Forster

Luke, who moved from Man City to join James at Bayern Munich over the Summer for 35m will also be in the team and I think we will qualify for the World Cup easily!

Spain won the bid to host the 2024 European Championships.

So as we walked out at Wembley for our first match to try and Qualify for Qatar 2022, I decided to put Byram in the team along with Cardiff striker Luke James.

Team to face off against Ukraine

James deserves his chance and will start alongside Danny Sturridge. I do feel a bit for Charlie but he knows this is a team game. Jack and Will start in midfield so new Vice Captain Ross is on the bench.

The match kicked off and I new that these fans are expecting us to jst keep winning, I could tell there was a lot of excitement for this Qualifying campaign. It did not take long for us to go 1-0 up. Sturridge and Ox combined ultra slickly to give Daniel a open goal and make it 1-0. There was nothing much in the rest of the first half but the second half was amazing! James and Andros were withdrawn for Nathan and Charlie to immediate effect as Redmond drilled a cross in for Austin to smash the bar!

Ten minutes later though Alex got his goal his overall play deserved when from 16 yards out he made it 2-0. Ukraine huffed and puffed but Chris was majestic at the back with Steven. They are the first choice pairing at the moment.

There was even time for England to smash a 3rd home with Sturridge and we had negotiated what many feel was our hardest match to a easy 3-0 win.

I told the players that they are on the verge of something very special here.

We then traveled to Dublin for the match against the Irish. Steven got injured so Phil comes in to partner Chris and Charlie starts ahead of James.

The match kicked off and the Irish started the brighter but it was us to hit first! Charlie scored yet another headed corner for us. These goals he has scored for us since I bought him in are invaluable. 3 minutes later and it was 1-1, Shane Long volleyed in a free kick delivered by James McCarthy but that lasted 3 minutes when Charlie hit his second goal of the day from yet another corner. We are superb at corners and no team wants to face us at the moment.

On the 30th minute Sturridge carried on his amazing form by netting our 3rd goal. He picked the ball up midway in his own half played Alex in and then carried on got the return and what a surprise goal 3-1. Half time and I was so chuffed I told them to go out and do the same. on the 49th minute and it was 4-1 when John flanagon diverted the ball into his own net from a Oxlade-Chamberlain cross.

We wasn't done though and sub Wilfried picked the ball up on the right wing and just launched this mazy run round 3 player and an unstoppable shot into the top corner!

Ireland did get one back but that was it we had won 5-2!!!!!! Big, Big wins for us and we are in pole position, is there another nation better in the world at the moment? I dont think so.
Btw, on the note of your Newcastle story, you know you can ask the board to give you more time because of injuries? :P
@ Louis yeah I know but Mike Ashley is a twat anyway lol

This is a good story anyway

Keegans Notes

We came in on the back of a big two wins against Ukraine and Rep. Ireland. Which also prompted some Newspapers to say that I wanted a return to club management! I was invited onto a chat show and I accepted, I put the record straight and said that I had No Intention on leaving England for any club at the moment.

Yes one day I would love to manager Newcastle, Man city, Liverpool o even go back to my first clob Scunthorpe United. They are all clubs with a special place in my heart..........Oh fuck it I forgot Hamburg, I had really happy memories there too.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/822/5n8i.jpg/
Could Keegan manage Hamburg at some point?

OK, Back to my squad for Northern Ireland and Andorra! Sam Byram kept his place and would start again, his injury will have cleared up by the N. Ireland match. I made the controversial decision to Drop Danny Welbeck as I wanted Cardiff wonder-kid Alan Nixon in.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/843/qxw8.jpg/
Welbeck has sensationally been dropped

Nixon a product of Fulham, did not make a single appearance for the Cottagers until he had been on loan to 3 clubs in the Championship before making 36 appearance for Fulham in the Premier League but he was sold for 3.8m to Blackburn for there Premier League adventure. It is his form alone that has bagged him a call up at the expense of the vastly experienced Danny Welbeck.

The dropping of Welbeck shows that Keegan wants the best player in form for each squad and lets just hope it does not back fire!

Squad for the games against N.Ireland and Andorra

I decided to put out what I feel is my best 11 at the moment. Shaw and Byram are, I think the best two full backs around Europe at the moment and Shaw is on hot form for Bayern Munich too. The midfield has a familiar look to it, I think Townsend is such a brilliant player. I have been questioned about this formation a lot from the Media and members of an awesome forum, I think this formation is the best that England have ever had.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/802/9swx.jpg/
Townsend is now the first name on the team sheet for England

Daniel and Charlie are the strikers, these are the two that are in form at the moment and they are picking themselves.

Team to line up against the Northern Irish

Well we are getting used to being hot favourites to win a game and at one point at Wembley I thought we had let it get to our heads this time because The Irish took a shock lead against the run of play as the countered with Bowers (who got injured 10 minutes after) played a ball through the statis England defence for Philip Toye to keep his cool and score.

However it shocked us into shape and from the kick off Townsend, who I told to hug the touchline and he delivered the ball of his life onto, yes you guessed it Charlie's head for 1-1. Five minutes after that goal we won a free kick. Good work by Jack to win the free kick, Luke placed the ball down and drilled it into the bottom corner. The Irish were stunned. We continued to press in the first half with Charlie and Danny going close.

At half time I told them to make sure they put the game away in this half. Zaha came on for Alex, he has played well for his club an dI told him to go for it this half. the other guy to come on was Cardiff Striker Alan Nixon replaced Charlie. Now he was subbed because I want Danny to find his form. However it was the debutant who struck in the 54th minute. Nixon picked the ball up and being young and naive he decided to just run at the Irish, he kept going and going past several players and then scuffed his shot, but Mcwilliams in the Irish goal let it through his legs! He had scored on his debut! Northern Ireland were dead and buried when Ross scored after coming on late. 4-1 victory and we are flying in group 3.

I am not going to talk about Andorra very much because they were shit, utter shit. We won 4-0.

Team to play Andorra

They scored an own goal for us to get it to 1-0, then Shaw, Zaha and Sturridge finished off a easy victory.

So we are top of Group 3 and we should stand an amazing chance of Qualifying.

Keegans Notes

Ok if you want it that way then you can have it that way! I am so angry at the press at the moment because take away the Penalty loss to Croatia and we have been on fire, absolute fire. I have some amazing players, who I have got to gel together, a couple of new faces that I am slowly integrating into the squad but if the Press want to get on my back maybe I should just fucking resign?
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/843/s88k.jpg/
Keegan has had issues with the media

Well I won't because I have the backing of most the fans and the F.A but most of all the confidence of the players. Right onto the football matters, I know German football well. I mean I have played there before but that is not why I flew over there last week. I was there to look at Luke and James, now last time I watched James play he got injured and it bloody happened again! he was in a bad challenge with some idiot who had lost the ball and then sythed him down. Luke was amazing yet again and I would definitely pick him.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/547/ylt6.jpg/
Luke James is impressing for Cardiff City

I flew home after but had to go to talk to Danny Welbeck who had requested I stopped by so I did. He told me how he was not happy to be omitted but I responded by saying stop whinging and show me you want to be in the squad. Then I explained that he was not in this squad either but I did however tell him he was not out of my plans. I mean he is awesome but Luke, Charlie and Sturridge have played awesome this season.

Is Austin undroppable for England at the moment?

I called up Adam Forshaw, Tom Incey and Jack Butland, who I was going to give a cap to in the Frieindly in Bulgaria.

Squad to face Ukraine and Bulgaria

We got off the coach in Ukraine on the day of the match and I had a nervous 23 men because they new a win here and we ware almost there. We haven't lost an actual competitive match now for 20 matches the last team to defeat us was Croatia in the World Cup 3rd place playoff.

I went for my strongest possible team, Joe in goal and Wilshere and Will the two figure head midfielders with Daniel and Charlie started too.

Team to start against Ukraine
We started nervously but we were still dominating the possession. Ukraine put five in midfield to try and force us into changing our system but we held firm in the first half which was very very boring. In the changing room I told the lads that a draw is not a bad result but we have such a good run of form going so encouraged them to get out there and find that winning goal.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/547/t4fg.jpg/
Will Hughes in action for England

I put Nixon on for Charlie hoping that would help us find a winner. Then Jack fed the ball to Willy Hughes who gave it to nixon he checked and passed it back to Shaw who was steaming down the wing. He delivered a perfect cross onto Hughes' head and 1-0 to the Three Lions! Then I took Will off he got a rousing reception and we held on for a 1-0 victory we are now in control of the group and we are ready for the Bulgarian trip.

We got off the plane and I had already decided to make minimal changes but Jack was going to get his first cap under me which was his 2nd cap. His first cap was EIGHT years ago!
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/607/7nt2.jpg/
Butland, aged 27 is about to win his second cap in 8 years

Elsewhere Jones, Redmond, Barkley and Nixon all start. Forshaw from Norwich will also get a game I said.

Team to play Bulgaria

Within 8 minutes we were two up and Oxlade-Chamberlain scored both, one from a free kick and another from the corner of the 16 yard box. I then told them to go for it and on the 38th minute after Bulgaria had scored through Tonev we made it 3-1 Redmond dribbled inside the Bulgarians who looked pedestrian and drilled in it into the top right hand corner. We went in 3-1 up and then I said awesome performance guys.

Charlie, Adam, Andros, Jack and Luke all came on. Forshaw then made it 4-1 with an exquisite finish for his first ever England goal. It ended 4-2 we had won both matches again. I would make us favourite for the World cup at the moment! Spain are world number 1's then us and then Croatia. I can not wait for the next time we play!
50th Reply!

Great story so far Jason, lovin the detail.
thanks to everyone I have now got to 50 replies yayyyyy
Good results, unlucky that you didnt get more against Ukraine. Your tactic is very offensive, im surprised you dont concede more.
Brilliant story mate and it's good to see Forshaw in the England team looks like Will Hughes is doing great for you!
Really good story mate, good to see Byram in the England setup
@ TK - Thanks man I love the fact I am making this as detailed as my first story here the LEamington one but unfortunatly for me then I was up against Justice's Vauxhall story!

@ Sedso - Yeah I am very very offensive but I have Joe and Jason for goalies, Caulker Jones and Smalling are world class centre backs to I put my trust in the fact they can play well. My central midfielder is used as a box to box too.

@ Lee The Bee - yeah Forshaw almost made my European Championship squad too.

@ Jack - Thanks and Byram and Shaw are my first choice backs and they are undroppable at the moment
WOW! Well done on not losing a game in qualifying yet! Keep up the good work :D
Wow, this is my favourite story on here so far. I think I'm going to do an international save as my first story!
@ Radders - Thanks mate and yes I am doing amazingly well and i will win the world cup!

@ Ben - WOW thanks ben and welcome to the site i am glad you like it :)

Keegans Notes

Has it really been 3 month since our last match? Wow a lot has happened since then. I was rumoured to want the Athletico job, I didn't and told the press that. Newcastle's manager came under pressure and I was asked if I fancied that to which again I said no.

Football wise and I have a Centre Back crisis! Phil and Steven are both out of the match against Armenia so I need to look at who I could possibly call up. James has been in the best form of his life with Luke at Bayern so expect him to start against Armenia as long as he does not get injured. It will be a familiar look to the quad but I will make about 7 or 8 changes to freshen things up and look at how others do in a competitive environment.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/203/0rrb.jpg/
Steven Caulker is not available for the Armenia match

I then went to watch Arsenal vs Blackburn to see Jack Wilshere get injured and would be out for 4 weeks, which means yet another player out of the Armenia match but midfield we have good cover. One of the cover players though is also injured after Adam Forshaw broke his collarbone. He will be out for 7 weeks! so I have 5 injuries at the moment.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/835/j2cm.jpg/
Can Forshaw recover from a broker collarbone

So the naming of the Squad was interesting because I have a lot of regulars out. It was probably my most inexperienced squad I have named since coming back into management.

Out go the injured players I mention along with Andros and Tom. This is nothing against them but I feel they are not playing there best football at the moment. James Ward-Prowse is back though and looking good to start against Armenia. Raheem Stirling on the back off the back of his move to Ukraine and Shaktar also makes the cut into Keegan's Squad.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/844/awte.jpg/
Stirling, 26 moved to Shakhtar for 11.75m is back in the squad

Then I called up uncapped player John Lunstram of Newcastle United. The 27 year old striker has been playing well this season and I have rewarded him with a call up. Also there are three more uncapped players in this squad. First is 22 year old Wayne Smith, who cost Arsenal 12.75m from Newcastle and 2 seasons later he was signed by The Citizens for 17.25m and is in form! The second is 23 year old Man City right midfielder Davy Gordon. He also started at Arsenal and went on loan to Rangers where he impressed Man City enough to pay 6m for him and become there first choice right midfielder.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/15/63sc.jpg/
Can Lundstram win his first cap?

The last uncapped player is Arsenal Centre Back Dion Conroy. Dion, 25 joined from Chelsea for 4.7m and has played his way into the starting line up for the game against Armenia. I really hope he does well
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/4/7luz.png/
Squad for the Qualifier against Armenia

We arrived at the Vazgen Sargsyan Stadium and it looked a nice stadium. It holds just 15,000 and it was a sell out. We should win no matter what team I put out but Armenia is team that are slowly building something good.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/34/y1u9.jpg/
Stadium England are going to be playing at

I went risky for this game and gave 3 men there debuts. Dion Conroy, Smith and Lundstram all got there debuts and I now hope that this does not backfire.
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/823/fwfp.png/
Team to play Armenia

I was not disappointed either. We started like a train. Charlie, who for his age was now an experienced international scored within 5 minutes. The cross came from debutant Wayne Smith who crossed it onto Austins head. Austin then fed Smith who passed it into the Ox to drill home from 10 yards. 2-0 and all my men were playing awesome. it was half time and I could not hide my delight.

I took Will and Danny off for Danny and James. Smith who had been awesome for us then took a corner and planted it onto Diors head! 3-0 and a debut goal, but it was Smith who was impressing and he nearly got his goal as he drilled a free kick against the bar. Armenia started to come back but it was to no avail when Austin made it 4-0.

We are almost qualified already and I could not be happier.
