New signing announced days before Celtic game

Liverpool Football club, this evening revealed their new signing as English right winger, Oxlade Chamberlain. The Ox has been brought into the club for a fee said to be around the 18 million pound mark, but given how cheap they Yarmolenko, these reports could well be false.
Rodgers did reveal that another good signing would be made before the reds' first pre season game against Celtic, and the manager has stuck to his word. It seems he wants to intergrate his new players into the team as fast as possible.
The contract given to the Ox is a reported four year deal, with him on a weekly wage of just 65K a week. Pretty cheap for a former Arsenal player.
Both managers have had their say on the deal, and even the player has given us his thoughts, we understand that he is
"Happy with the deal, and he can't wait to pull on the famous red jersey." Brendan Rodgers said to us;
"I am over the moon to complete this signing. I think it will be a real indicator to our determination to go as far as winning the title this year...and many years to come. I want to take this club to the top and I believe that along with the likes of Suarez, Sakho, and Yarmolenko...Alex can certainly help get us on our way there."
When asked; 'Do you feel selling Oxlade, to a rival was a bad move' Arsenal manager responded with this;
"No, not at all. Alex has bags of potential, and I hope he does well at Liverpool, he wasn't getting game time here and he wanted to move. Which is obviously fair enough. I like the lad and could not keep him against his will. He will join Liverpool at a time where they are on their way back to the glory days and I am glad he will be apart of that because he deserves it. He has put so much hard work into his career. But to conclude, I do not think it was a bad idea, there are many replacements out there, and we still have many, many top quality players here."
Chamberlain has made 52 appearances for Arsenal over the course of his time there, scoring just 4 goals. He made 11 last year only scoring 1. He has even made 25 appearances for his country, England, scoring 3 goals.
His stats at Arsenal don't exactly prove his worth of 18 million pounds, so this could be a huge gamble for Rodgers, but many of his signings have paid off in the past. Grenier, Rakitic, Coutinho. Need we mention Sturridge? We at BTSport think this is a terrific signing for Liverpool, and we wish the player and the team all the best of luck.
